Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Wow, really coming along!!!

Keep moving, in mid April next year there will be a huge 50th anniversary party in Charlotte, NC. You have 8 months! I haven't taken pics but my interior mods are about done. All the 3 points are in (front and rear) and it's all back together except the dash, going to take that back apart to repaint it. The rear axle is leaking a lot. I'll be pulling that apart, but I hope to wait until the cruising season is over. Been putting a lot of miles on it. With the A/C the wife loves riding in it again. She even wanted to take it to Clemson and back last weekend (2 hour round trip.) I never got the electric fan installed, I pissed off the DC Controls guy and never got my part, so I tweaked the crap out of everything and kept fine tuning the timing and I've gotten it to where it just gets above 210 in traffic with the A/C on, which people on mustang forums say is "normal" or "ok" for these cars. I still want to get my electric fan, I've just got to come up with a better controller option. Right now, DC Controls is the only "good" reliable controller for the ford two speed fans.

Also, I love VA. Compared to my truck, it does take longer to get the car cool (much larger area) and when the sun beats down on the car with all clear glass windows, it does take a bit for it to get started, but once it gets cool in there it will freeze you out. After the initial cool down, I never had it above half way it was so cold. It would be a big difference if my windows were tinted, but I think it would kill the look of my car.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Ive been making it a habit to order a few parts every paycheck even if its small stuff.

So Far what I have sitting waiting on to be installed:
Trunk Seal
Hood Seal
Reverse Bulbs
Front Windshield Seal
Rear Windshield Seal
Rear Floor Panels (in Process)
FLOOR PAN PLUG KIT
HOOD TO FENDER BUMPERS
Rear Windshield Molding clips
MANUAL SHIFT BOOT
RH FRONT SECTION FRAME RAIL
1" Wheels spacer (Rear need installed)

and today I ordered
Thrush Glass Pack (temp exhaust setup)
Front Windshield Molding Clips
Rubber Windshield Washer Pump as mine leaks when i pump it and drains the whole bag into the car blah

So as you can see I have a few parts laying around.

On the downside I cut the exhaust a bit shorter then i thought or well the angle does quiet work how i want. So Ill have to grab a little piece of pipe to install the glasspack

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Well i got back to the floor panels and made them a little worse. My cutting messed up and i create a couple big gaps. However it still had enough to be welded in so i welded her in and will go back and fix the gaps later. Its 90 out and 3.5hrs later im done for the day.....Especially after putting in a morning round at the boxing gym.

Re: 1967 Mustang Coupe Build (Electra)

Well yesterday I got to work and got all the gaps filled in the driver side.

Today I started on the passenger side. Got it cut out, cleaned up, painted with weld-thru primer, and then got the pan spot welded in place before the rain started. So that's it but progress...
