Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

Have not worked on the truck that much due to a weasal of a neighbor. He reported me to the county inspector for having abandoned vehicle in my driveway. Granted, one was the cab chained to the avacodo tree next to my driveway. And it was not on the dolly like in the pic.

Now with the case CLOSED. We can continue, getting things ready for sandblasting on Monday.

Isn't it funny how people care more of their neighbours matters than their own? I dont't know why they are laying their energy on everybodey else than themselves? Maybe they are just envious of NOT having a nice Chevy truck in their garage..

Very nice work you do, keep upp the good work!

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

I have a piece of crap neighbor like that as well. He called the city on me because I parked my Ram in the grass while I backed out and took my GMC for a spin. Now I have to play musical cars to get my truck out and heaven forbid I park on actual earth because it violates city code...may he die the death of a thousand venereal diseases!

All the frame work looks awesome. This thing is gonna rock for sure.

I had a neighbor call about a car once also, or maybe it was just my wife because she didn't like it either.

At least you got a wrench for your trouble.
I've seen a lot worse but was real lucky with mine as the floor had the most damage.

Are you getting any time to work on the hot rod or still putting in the big hours at work?

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

Sorry guys,
Had some drama. We have done some work but not much. Anyone thinking of sandblasting their car or truck I recommend picklex20. Its been 6 weeks since blasting and no rust, no paint or primer.

Re: 1959 Fleetside REBORN

progress is progress. the overtime will buy more truck parts

i used pickleX20 on the bed of my truck after sandblasting it
i did all the fab work to add the trunk and left it in the corner of my barn for 6 years
the bed was rust free for 4 years, the last couple of years it got some surface rust
it also works quite well on bare metal that your storing in the shop

Hey Shadow,
Since you're relatively local to me, who did your blasting? Would you recommend them? Seems like they were careful not to warp anything, is that accurate?

Brian was the guy I talked to. Price was 1100. They use aluminum ozide for media. They do not remove bondo unless you tell them to, it takes time to remove if applied correctly.
