Re: Film Guy Project Build Thread........
LOL, Don't put me in that class. I'm just going to advise. Ah...and party! My boss is the one who will be spending the bucks. I'm just a poor working guy like everyone else. Why do you think it has taken me so long to complete this truck? Cuz I'm broke! LOL. But for real, paint and body with all the mods did cost me a small fortune. Lots more than I intended, but it's looking great. I'm very excited to see progress again. I found some NOS front fenders and inner wheel housings, hood and core support a couple months ago. Picked it all up for $300. I could not believe it. It's all NOS and has GM stickers on it. The guy was going to build a 72 fifteen years ago and bought it all from the dealer and has never used it. He said it was just collecting dust in his shop. I offered 3 bills and he said come and get it. Jeff was also excited about the find. It saved him a lot of work.
I have been looking at the Barrett Jackson web site and found a car I think we need. It will be on Saturday. it's a 67 Chevelle. Lowered, red with a 502 and a 4 speed. It looks *****in. Check it out if yall get a minute. Wish me luck! I got to go catch a plane. |

Re: Film Guy Project Build Thread........
I hope this small fortune is still a bargain compared to that quote you got from the 'other' paint shop.

Re: Film Guy Project Build Thread........
Here is a pic of one of the cars I looked at at the Barret Jackson Auction. This thing IMO was as close to perfect as I have ever seen. Okay I know this is a truck site so only one post. Has anyone seen this car before?

Re: Film Guy Project Build Thread........
Yeah, I've seen the car in and out. Kreations auto body in california built it but we did some work on it for the customer that took it to barrett. It's a 620 horse 572, tremec 5 speed on a morrison chassis. Nothing too crazy but a nicely but together car. Nice truck by the way.Love that back wheel.

Re: Film Guy Project Build Thread........
I checked on my truck this evening. Good progress but no primer on anything yet. All the new sheet metal needed adjustment. Just a cut or two here and there and lots of welding and grinding to make the door openings gaps and the hood to fender gaps perefect. Sounds easy but its time consuming. He promises I'll have it by Christmas. We'll see. Here is one of the trucks we came home with from Barret Jackson. It's a 55 with a ramjet 502. Its aired up now to get it on the transport truck but it slams to the ground. I'll get some better pics for you guys if you like it.
