there isnt a condenser installed, so no AC yet. I am shaking out any cooling problems, if I have it a while I will add the AC. but thats like a $500 job, lines and leakdown etc.

Hey Joe! I can't tell by your pics, but are you able to use the factory inner fender panels with the S10 frame or is it just an open engine bay? I like the looks of the inner panel on the 46's when there used.

yep, just had to trim around the upper control arms. you can just barely see in the last picture I posted, the daylight is seen through the inner louvers. I dont build one without inner fenders, thats a fast way to have a really dirty engine.

yeah, mostly! thinking of either going to the benton airport fly in saturday or working on Wamego, the next project, a 49 GMC 1/2 ton. going a bit different on Wamego, thinking 20s and rubber bands and maybe even air ride. I have a whole ridetech S10 setup on the shelf, just needs bushings and one bag, and a set of MIC manuals. and some MMW longer uppers, and AIM longer lowers. hmm.

its a hit at the gas station, I had to ask people to move (nicely) to take a picture and I think I got proposed marriage. solid offer, maybe if he shaved his beard. you can see the rear is dropping with driving, already I am thinking a 1" block instead of 2".

Hey Joe? Take a look at this link and tell me what you think. I know its the wrong year and is to short. Is it possible to lengthen these guys. S10's (and Dakotas), the right year and size are as rare as hens teeth around here.

there isnt a wrong year, 2wd s10s were mostly the same 82-02. that does looks like a shortbed, but its easy as heck to make a shortbed longer just by moving the front leaf perch back and flipping the rear section of the frame. you cut that pat off anyway so you arent losing anything really, and moving the perch back lowers the rear about an inch! with the wheels and tires I would say thats a pretty good deal. dont worry about mussing the paint up because you need to cut all those brackets off and take a chunk out of the torque boxes anyway.

see if you can get the bench seat too! cut the headrests off and it fits these cabs perfectly

I thought that sounded like a rockin good deal. I understand moving the front perches back. Not sure if I would even have to flip the rear frame section. My plan with the dodge was to do a shorter then stock wheelbase anyway, say around 112". So I might be able to just move front and rear perches back 4" as it is in fact 108"

I didnt get to benton saturday, I tried too long to get a car seat installed temporarily. I didnt do anything but bask in attention on fathers day either. yesterday I worked on putting wheels on my neighbors a frame and today oh well what the hell I started another truck haha.

well giga, I understand, and I am bowing to peer pressure. again.

first, the horns. I loved these lights on the roof and I even made them flash with the turn signals. but everyone asks: was/is this a big truck? ok fine, not everyone has my taste.

next, the tailgate. after the 10th "is that safe?" comment I picked up a scrap chunk of 2" tube at the Yard. it was too shiny, so I mixed some salt in some vinegar (thanks skymangs) and left it outside in the sun/under the sprinkler for a couple days.

I also got tired of waiting for the rear to drop. I had the leafs dearched 4" but they settled at around 2. so I dug out some 2" angle blocks and stopped by atlas for some longer u bolts. luckily the s10 lower plates take 9/16th with no mods.

"beep" or "beeps" is short for beeperfish, its a story I tell my kids when they are really young about a tiny fish that beeps as it swims, and is able to eat fish much bigger in one gulp. sometimes when they chase me around the house I yell "dont eat me beeperfish!", so on this girl it kind of stuck.

I cant take credit for the story, a guy in high school with a vivid imagination told me the story of the beeperfish.

I ordered some door seals and I am going to see if I can get this thing a little more rain proof. still havent added bumpers although I did work on it a bit. KKOA in salina is next week, maybe I can take the drive.

I took a vacation day Friday, but I also plan on going again for a few hours on Saturday morning. Looks like we are going to have some cooler weather next weekend. So maybe the show will be more enjoyable. Did you plan on putting the truck in the show or just doing some cruising?

my wife works till 3 on saturdays but I am thinking of having grandma come watch the beeps. I would take her but I tried ratchet strapping a car seat in before and it didnt work well.

had a fuel smell I couldnt track down, finally noticed a puddle on the intake

the TBI had been rebuilt recently, there were new gaskets and injectors. but the return line was dripping. a lot. and tightening it made it leak MORE. the o-ring on the line looked suspect but because this is not my first rodeo I pulled the fitting too, and no teflon ring.

$30 rebuild kit.

I could have bought the o-ring singly but not the teflon ring. maybe I will do a tbi truck again soon.

then I worked on the horn. This is the speedway 1940 ford horn like outlawdrifter put in his truck. everything was hooked up but no beep. the center post was just a machine screw, and it wasnt going deep enough to touch the steering shaft is all. a new longer screw fixed it.
