I'm just waiting for some warmer weather. Did you by any chance contact the guy about rebuilding your column?

Re: Project - '69 4x4 named "Patches"
I sent him an email a while ago about rebuilding mine and he said that he is super busy with work and that he does them on the side. And he is backed up about 4 months on the ones he has to do. He said to contact him at a later date and he might be free.

Re: Project - '69 4x4 named "Patches"
Small update....
If you've read through my build you'll remember that I had some issues with my aftermarket fuel tank. Well, I finally rounded up the necessary material to fix the issues. The drawing I submitted to the shop had a side fill filler neck that was supposed to be double mitered for easy filling, but this is what I got instead. Can you imagine trying to fill through this at the gas pump? The next issue was the vent tube. It was supposed to point to the side just like the filler neck. I cut and welded up a piece of tubing with double miters to help with filling the tank. Here I test fit the new fill neck compared to the old one. Notice that the old one doesn't even clear the top of the frame rail. Next I cut off the old fill neck and vent tube and cleaned up the welds. Here is the final result...a fill neck that should allow fuel to flow freely into the tank. I welded in a pipe coupling to use for the vent line. I'll screw in a 90* barb fitting to connect to the vent line. It's not amazing progress, but at least it's checked off the list of things to do now. .

Re: Project - '69 4x4 named "Patches"
Well here's the latest progress.......
We got my cab, cowl, and hood loaded up and dropped it off at the blaster this past Saturday. I should be able to pick it up this coming weekend if all goes well. Last week Alan and I fished the brake lines through the frame trying to get them mocked up. Everything lines up pretty well for the most part. The only area that's confusing is where they all tie together on the driver's side frame rail. I've searched the board for pictures of the correct routing and found some good detailed build pictures that should help me get mine figured out. Also, I found a truck on the board that looks like what I had envisioned mine looking like when it's complete. It belongs to NYC-10 and I hope he doesn't mind me using his picture. This truck has pretty much the same specs as mine. 4" lift 33 x 12.50's Meduim Olive/White paint The only difference between the two is I'll be running a 71-2 front end and I haven't fully decided if I'm running any trim or not. So now I have an almost exact replica to look up to to help me stay focused on my build. Stay tuned bodywork should commence here shortly. .

Re: Project - '69 4x4 named "Patches"
I got one more thing checked off the to-do list yesterday. Here recently Alan and I fished the brake lines through the frame for the intial fit up. I bought a complete set from Inline Tube a year or so ago and I was worried that I would have an issue with them fitting well. I know several members had issues using them, but it looks like I got lucky and got a good set. I ordered a set of stainless extended brake hoses from Off Road Design last week and they finally showed up. If anyone is needing some extended hoses for a lifted truck these are some pretty nice pieces and would recommend them to anyone.
http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog...brakelines.htm I test fitted them and everything seemed to fall into place. The picture below is kind of deceiving, because it makes the hose looks short, but there is a good bit of slack in the hose that the picture doesn't show. Once I get my fuel tank installed permanently and the fuel line plumbed in I'll go through and mount the fuel and brake lines to the frame. As it is now they are just "floating" in the frame. I'm currently waiting to get my cab back from the sandblaster. Hopefully I can pick it up this weekend if it's done. Then the real work starts and hopefully some noticeable progress to post about. Stay tuned...
