Man, that 383 is thirsty. I made 3 trips over to the Shell station just to keep up with Dan! I'm glad I disconnected the speedo cable and parked it back inside so the guy who owns it doesn't find out heheheh....J/K!

So far eveything fits and works well. The ebrake portion of the rear calipers will interfere with the bed side on full drop unless I modify some pockets at the wheel well area. I ran the pressure switch in the cab for the compressor to keep it dry and all lines are now ran. Got the 2" blocks installed and now working on upper shock relocators, did I mention I hate huck bolt rivets? Getting closer

Those factory frame rivets that they assembled everything with to speed up production. Some refer to them as a huck bolt. They are just large pain in the a$$ rivets that don't torch well, hard to get a grinder in tight spaces or you have to listen to an air chisel to remove them. I will do a frame off someday and just peel them off that frame just to win the battle.

Thanks guys!

The Ebrake cables from the drums get thrown away. The new calipers have their own cable and then a "jumper" cable to make up the difference in length from the really long originals that tie together just under the trans tailshaft at the ebrake yoke. From there forward, it's the same. Only change is where the split under the center of the truck and go left/right. New jumpers to shorter shielded cables to the new calipers.

I was shorted a jump cable and the other must be for a long bed as it's about a foot too long. I ran to the hardware store and picked up some stainless cable and ring style crimps to adjust length and then lock them down to size. should work fine.

Here's some random pic's of todays progress. Everything under the truck is done. Master cylinder in, all lines ran and bled. Ebrake functions, all air lines protected and ran to the cab, compressor wires ran into the cab. Other than putting the wheels on it in the morning, I am set to roll it back from the lift , open the drivers door and start mounting the manual switch gauge panel, plug the lines into it, run the power wire and gauge lighting wires. Cross my fingers and try it out! Good news it warmed from -10 to 18 today and the roads are getting beat down enough that a slippery slammed test drive ( with lots of doughnuts) should happen around lunch time.....wish me luck!
The next one I do, I will remove the cab and bed to expose the frame....it would have been waaaaaaaaay easier. For those thinking of bagging, disc braking, master cylinder upgrade etc. just pull the cab and bed. The bed has to come off anyway to notch, the cab isn't much longer and it will make for a much cleaner and quicker install, especially if you are doing a tilt column , wiring etc like I started doing in the beginning a couple months ago. Should have just blown it all apart then.

Took a little longer than I expected with chasing brake fluid leaks, running some clean wires and a relay, parts store trips, in dash air gauge, test fitting panel etc. It's all the little things that kill a day. I tell my wife " I'm quick and good at framing a house, but it takes me 10 times as long to do molding work".
