Now if your talking about the axle staying centered from side to side, if you go lower than 4" you have to install an extended panbar.

Mine is lowered with springs only, maybe I should look into blocks.
Both my wheels are moved back to the rear of the fender, no side to side issues.

Thanks

1955-59 chevy C10 truck on E-Bay for $70.00 for the Pair very easy to install, Stock mounting. I did not like the larger taillights.

I think bugzc10 must have leaf springs on the rear to be using blocks and the
axle would not move forward or back?

I assumed you had coil springs as I do. If you have leaf springs you should be able to adjust the axle toward the front. Have you looked to see if the yoke has moved out of the transmission tail housing? If your axle is moving rearward I would think the drive shaft is pulling the yoke out of the tranny by the same amount.
You may want to post a separate thread on this subject so someone with more expertise can chime it.

Bugz, I love your truck, you know I do, and it looks great without the front bumper, but I think I'll stick with some extra chrome in the front. I'm leaning a little more toward a "resto-mod" type build,...and besides, with no power brakes, and my wife insisting to drive the truck on occasion?,..I think I better keep a front bumper in the plans...lol.

I just got my Ridler 695 Wheels this past friday. They are 20x8.5 fronts with 245/50-20 Hankook Ventus AS and 20x10 rears with 275/45-20 Hankook Ventus AS.......fronts and rears are "0" offset.
I have Full Ridetech Air Ride system installed. Using Double Convoluted HD bags, 1/4" air line, Ridetech Ridepro 4 way solenoid block, 5 gallon 8 port tank, and 200psi High Volume compressor.

So your back spacing in the rear is 5" and 4.25 in the front?

OK, thanks! I'm trying to visualize my truck with 20's. I'm wanting to upgrade my wheel/tire combo sometime soon and trying to figure out what size I want.

I'm going through the same thought process. 18/18 or 18/20s?
Are those 17" you have now? What's your tire sizes?

Not tubbed. I have about 1 inch clearance on inside and actually need to roll the fender just a bit to clear enough to drop all the way. But since I am never going to drive with it dropped more than in the picture.....not in a hurry to do that.
Dont really use backspacing very much I go to my wheel guy and we measure for offset. They sent 0 offsets for both and turned out great!
Biggest issue is if you want a deeper dish to the rear, ya gotta go with a 10 inch or try to get a much thinner in the front.

Re: pictures of shortbox stepsides

Guys I gotta tell ya...as many cars as I have done over the past few years, I have gone through my tire and wheel guy every time and he keeps reminding me as to why NOT to go staggered....going 18/20 or 19/20 is such an expense on tires and not easy to find a matching setup that will look good. Gotta remember that staggereds are on performance street cars like vettes and camaros........and their not cheap to replace when needed. (I have owned 4 corvettes)
