Sweet! That was pretty innovative cutting the dropped sections of frame out.

I am digging the new shop.

Thanks, slowly but surely getting there...

The DRW 60 front is 77" WMS to WMS, the stock 58 is 71". The tires were a bit inside the fenders so we're thinking a inch or so sticking out with the 60. If it's awkward looking I can change the hubs out to SRW ones and run spacers to play with the width.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

Spent the evening/morning getting the rear 14B cleaned up and under the chassis.
Stock springs in the back with 6 in. BDS springs up front leveled out the chassis perfectly

Yep it wont be long now. Once you have it able to roll it always inspires you to keep going . What are the plans for cab mounts etc? Driveline next before any cab related stuff?

Keep up the great work. You help motivate all of us!!

We've always moved forward when we've had some combination of time and funds coming together at the right time to fuel the inspiration .
We'll try and get the drivetrain in the chassis next before moving forward on the cab transplant.

And thanks for the kind remarks...it really motivates us to be able to show y'all the next step!

Speaking of making decisions, did you ever consider putting a cummins in this truck?

I've lurked around a few of your threads and really like your trucks. Especially the before and after pictures, nicely done.

If I remember correctly, '4BT' was thrown around after they bought the bread van (which donated its axles). 454 gonna be cool though.

Yep, for a bit. cAlvis165 is right about the bread van drivetrain possibility, but we got the wheels off the van and traded everything else for engine, axle, tranny pieces...most of which we used. We just really like BBCs...I'm used to them!

Those duals look amazing. You guys do great work. I am excited to see that drivetrain sitting in it. That frame turned out great.

Thanks Luther! We're trying to get the drivetrain mounted up soon, that always seems like a milestone.

Sharp eyes may have noticed that the calipers weren't mounted in the pics of the rolling chassis. The wheels were hitting the calipers about 1/2" before the WMS. The shortest spacer we could get was 1"...they fit fine now.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

I'm not real familiar with duallies...do those two rims just bolt back to back on the same lugs? Looks like the spacers worked fine.

Re: 1958 Apache 38 Dually Dump Project

Looks good! I would upgrade to some steel spacers later though.

Yep the two wheels go on at the same time then you bolt them both down.

Thanks Dino!!

Working on both the burb and the 58 this weekend...not much to show for it, but pretty much got the drivetrain sitting in there. Few little issues getting it in there...block huggers don't fit and we'll have to rotate the alt from below the bracket we made to above it. Stock tranny crossmember won't work, we'll have to fab something up.

Well, you're about one step ahead of me at this point I got my chassis rolling last night. Next step is engine, trans, and transfer case.

Did you get your 205/4500 already assembled, or did you bolt them together? The reason I ask is I wanted to know if you have pictures of the coupler.
