I think the splitter is a very cool idea for your application..

The only progress to report today was to get the remaining grease and grime off the TCase. It's now ready for one final bath, then wax and grease remover, then some paint...oh, then find all the parts and put it back together...

If it seems like I keep jumping around, that's because that's how I manage my ADD....

Well, it's been a while since I have worked on the truck but I finally got out and finished spraying the Rust Encapsulator on the frame. I've got to say, I am pretty impressed with the Preval spray system for something like this. When it comes to the top coat, I will bust out a real gun but for the encapsulator it was awesome.

Also bought a few new toys since the last time I posted

Well, I actually worked on Ol' Blue today. I'm test fitting the rear suspension now. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to replace the HO 52's pinion seal, or find me a later model 4.10. Either way, this thing is going to be a beast one day!!!

Top leaf spring bolt goes thru from the inside out so it won't hit or rub frame, that's factory. If you actually have a lot of clearance could leave it, may twist a bit when cornering or in a rut with one tire down and one up.

Okay, so the front suspension was derailed because of a lack of having all of the bolts. A question I have is on the rear spring mounts for the front suspension, it seems like a very specific carriage bolt. Does anyone know if I really need to use one of those, or can I just use a regular grade 8? I'm asking because to buy the bolt from LMC specifically for that mount, they're 9+ a pop!

Got out and did some work today! I made my own spring hangers today. I must say that they didn't turn out too bad considering the only tools were my plasma and grinder!

On another note, I noticed that I have one of my rear springs backwards so my rear is out of alignment. Good thing this is just a mock up phase

Hey MJ have you looked into this? A gear lever actuator with a control arm connecting the actuator & the OD unit?

One more idea if all else fails. Put a manual shift lever through the floor pan. Back in the day the old big trucks used this method and was referred to as a set of sticks. This would be the easiest & cheapest method I can think of to actuate the OD unit.

Yeah, that is pretty pricey! I've found a couple of electric actuators, but I like the gear lever actuators. Maybe I could find one off a Mack or something

This is the way Advanced Adapters has it designed, but I think it would get to be a real pain when I want to split all gears (not that I would all the time, but what if

).

Thanks for the input! I'm thinking I'm going to try and go with the gear actuator method if I can find one. Luckily I work for a company that has a ton of semi's so maybe I can get one off an old rig.

I was able to procure a 14 bolt FF for $100 this week. I'm heading out to pick it up this weekend. Not too bad of a deal in my opinion.

I found a weird one a 14 bolt semi floater with a 6 bolt (1/2 ton 4x4) pattern, never saw one before, only have seen a 14 bolt 8lug, semi or FF. But would not sell it at this time.
