Re: Project Old Blue, 1965 C10, Rebuild Version 2010

Spent some time on the truck this past weekend. Got the rear bumper and my license plate installed on the rear. It is all registered and legal to drive on the streets for the first time since 1998, back when I lived in Florida.

Took it to a cruise night in Tyler right after we hung the bumper. Hung out with some good friends and got to see some that I haven't seen since moving to Florida in 1996. It was a great night, did not do the actual cruise down Broadway, but just hung out in the parking lot for a bit.

It still has some issues, mostly we think it is transmission related, but just haven't taken the time to diagnose it completely...

Re: Project Old Blue, 1965 C10, Rebuild Version 2010

Wow, did not think I have been go from here for this long. Did take the truck to a couple of shows last year, and helped out a friend with a fall themed photo shoot at his wife's pre-school she works at. After that, truck has sat since November 2022...

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: Project Old Blue, 1965 C10, Rebuild Version 2010

Well, its been a minute since i posted on here. My daughter graduated from the University of Nebraska last May, so June 1, my oldest son and I started a quicky paint job on my '65. Goal was to have it all one color (original code 507 Light Blue) for the Fredericksburg July 4th 2025 parade. 2025 was also our family farm's 175 year anniversary. Mission accomplished. That is my Mom with me and the truck. It was her Dad's truck, he gave it to me for my 16th birthday. Wish he could see it now!

Unfortunately, the heavy rains in the area cancelled the parade. I am hoping to get it in for the 2026 July 4th parade.

That looks great. Even better that it is still in the family. That is, both the farm and the truck.
