Re: My 65 Pickemup project
Bro it was great meeting you, your burb is awesome. And I loved the fact that you busted your tail getting the engine in and got it to the show. You guys are hardcore over there. I'll cya in June for sure. That gives me tons of time to build another one. LOL.
This is me looking at the empty trailer just before we left Phoenix. LOL ![]() |

Re: My 65 Pickemup project
Ya, I had it at Dino's for a sleep over. Didn't want to keep it at the hotel. Anyway at Dino's party there was a amazing 58 Apache that my wife was chceckin out and so we got chattin to the cat who owns it. Turned out he loved the 65 and had to have it. My wife was bummed we couldn't take the 58 home but I'm workin on something for her anyway. It definatley went to a good home.
Already got the next one, will post up pics soon. Muhahahaha |

Re: My 65 Pickemup project
Congrats on the sale.
Your '65 is/was my favorite 60-66 truck on here! The look was perfect.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project
Delmo, post up a shot of your bed. I spoke to Nate today and he said it looked great. I am raising my original bed on mine.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project
Dood, it is way cool. That was the first thing I noticed on the truck. It really kept the original image of the truck intact--very nice.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project
I'm glad I got to meet you at Dino's and see your truck (well, the top of it at least--there is no crawling under these trucks to check out the running gear--that's what the threads on here are for). Very nice job on the rest of it BTW!!
![]() I really like what you did with the wheels/hub caps. Super clean--super clean!!

Re: My 65 Pickemup project
Wow, that's hawt. I haven't seen any like that, so I decided I was going to do mine. Then talking to Nate it convinced me.
I found a wood restoration epoxy that soaks into the wood and makes it 10x harder than the original wood. I hope to get my started soon. Damn your truck is sexy.

Re: My 65 Pickemup project
Just read this whole thread from start to finish and loved it. Amazing work you did. I could never sell it that fast after finishing it, but I know for some it's about the fun of the build. Hell, I've had my daily driver for 11 years, and my newest project car, my Vette, I've had for 5 years.
