Ran that by the wife and she does not like the idea.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I know what you mean I keep looking a aqua blue or teal green, Mama says red to match her hair so red is what it will be, Sigh.

I wanted to paint it a burnt copper but she hated the color so we compromised on a green that we both liked

Got my drive shaft and the truck is in primer. There is still body work to do but I will be able to drive it to Back to the 50's car show in ~2 weeks

Re: 55 2nd series

Thanks Kim. It is amazing how much easier it is to see imperfections with the primer on. There is still a ton of body work to do but I can't wait to drive it.

Re: 55 2nd series

since you un-chopped it, test fit the glass without the gasket
should be an even gap around the glass
you may have to make some adjustments

i dropped my cab on the firewall, bending the firewall in, bent both 'a' pillars and put a huge dent in the roof
jacked it all back straight and tested the doors and glass before installing

i don't see where you have painted the cab
you should paint the cab before installing the glass front and rear
at least cut in the windshield frame with paint
primer will not keep rust from forming

Re: 55 2nd series

My dad and I did my front glass and it went in around an hour. I lubed both sides of the rubber with dielectric grease. It's not what they recommend but it's safe on rubber, really helps the glass pop in, and helps to seal it. Once you do the string method you just have to do alot of pushing till it seats. Make for darn sure it's centered. I know it supposed to have sealer or bedding compound but I washed mine the other day and no leaks.

Re: 55 2nd series

We got the windshield in end up getting a different gasket and it fit much better.

@_Ogre: it is painted in the channel where the windshield goes.

@drivea55: Thanks
