Today's lesson, boys and girls, is to ALWAYS check and double check your mix ratios and air pressure settings BEFORE you start painting.

I wet sanded the bedsides, which had a few small issues, but were deemed worthy of color, so I mixed up my HRF and got to it. Problem is, I was just spraying base/clear, so I had the wrong mix ratios in my head. Twice as much hardener and reducer as necessary yields a runny, dripping, sagging mess. Low air pressure results in a spatter-paint effect. Both of which are not conducive to good-looking paint on your truck...

Now I know why my clear came out so crappily, too. Seems I have a bad habit of resting my pinky on the air pressure fine adjustment knob. At least with double the hardener, the paint will be dry sooner, and I can fix it sooner

Yeah, it laid out nicely for the most part, just got a little sputtered at the rear of the driver's side and a few sags/runs. All sanded down and re-sprayed now; looks MUCH better

Single stage urethane, with the flattening agent already mixed in. Just activate and shoot. It will be staying 'satin'

what size are your front wheels and tires i have 15x8s on my truck but i have 2 15x7s an 2 15x6.5s like the size of yours thanks an the truck is lookin great

Fronts are 235/70-15 on a 6.5" wheel. I have a set of 7" that I will switch them out for due to clearance issues with the lower control arm...
