Thanks Jonathan - it would be sweet to cruise to your swap meet. Sounds like fun.

A couple of things hit me over the weekend - out of the harshness of the fluorescent lights of the shop and in the sunshine, the blue comes alive and it does an excellent job of accentuating Lola's lines and curves.

The other thing that was interesting was the reaction of people when they saw the six cylinder in there. I overheard on guy saying he expected to see a small block in there and thought the six was a nice surprise. But the six is soooo slow. I didn't want to do the cruise on the track for fear of getting run over. It also doesn't have the right sound for the way it looks, IMHO.

I can live with it the way it is for a while with a cut and buff, but the paint has some bubbles and chips that need to be fixed. I would really like to do some things like Cruisin the Coast and Power Tour, and that means a new engine and transmission with overdrive.

Wow, that is one nice 60 Chevy! My first car was a 60 Olds Dynamic 88. Great car, wish I still had it!

Such a gorgeous car, I have a 59 pontiac 2 door and a 4 door, love the bubble tops and fins. Just need more of everything to be able to work on them.

I finally was able to get the wife to dress up for Halloween, all I had to do was buy her a car. Who knew? I think she loves that car more than me, maybe teaching her to shoot was a bad idea.

I replaced the current steering shaft (crappy rubber rag joint) with 93-95 a Jeep Cherokee U-Joint shaft. Very responsive steering now. Because of all the custom fab on this car the shaft married up to the gear box at about a 30 degree angle. I ripped two rubber rag joints and finally had enough. Sweet mod and it is a lot safer. Next - going to be changing the shot rubber bushings on the control arms (front/rear) to poly.

Wife gets mad at me when she can't drive her Hot Rod, so I'll need to hurry!

I see this thing all the time parked up at the cvs in Haughton

Wow, 2 years and no updates? Did it find a new home, or did it stay put and get a motor/trans swap???

Re: 1960 Biscayne

this is an amazing car!! I am very interested because i am trying to decide on interior options for my 60 parkwood. I have talked to 3 local upholstry shops that would do the complete interior, and i just got samples from ciadella that i am loving. Only thing with their stuff is i have to install it all.

Yes I do still have her. She's been sitting around waiting for her turn. I actually had purchased an LS1/4L60 for her and that wound up going in Ruth. I'm gathering parts, but as you know I have bought another one....

None coming soon, but may start a build thread soon on the car above.

I installed mine and I had never done it before. A local shop can install the seat covers for you and that's the hardest part. Tell Gina at Ciadella that Steve said hi.

Gina at ciadella is great help. They sent me a bunch of samples and they look great. Though i am likely to go with a local company here called www.sewntight.com . I kinda like the idea of dropping off a stripped out car and piciking up a car with an all new interior. They do great work and win lots of shows. A lot of their stuff is very street rod looking, but i have seen some original style stuff they have done and it is all extremely nice looking. Their out the door price all installed and ready to drive is only about $700 more than the price from ciadella that is just all the materials showing up at my door. Hard decision.

There will be one started soon. I've ordered some floor pans for it. The only bad places in it are in the deep foot wells those things have. New interior, fresh paint, not too sure what I'll do after that. Want to drive it this summer.

Yep, she drives the wheels off it. We are fixing the air/heat in it tomorrow. The control panel went out.

Re: 1960 Biscayne

This BB used to be my in my 69 Camaro. I sold it to Kyle since he wanted to put a BB in Lucy, but Kyle sold Lucy and this was pushed to a corner. He asked me if I knew anyone looking for a BB and after a bit of talking about it I came to the realization that Lola would be a good home for it.

As you can see, it now has the V Trac belt system on it now and he threw in a freshly built 700R into the equation, so it was just too good of a deal to pass up.
