Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Well the top half of the cab is finally ready for some White paint. I would plan on painting it this Thursday but I don't have the proper tape for masking off the line. So realistically it will be after Xmas. But at least its ready. Now to get the back bottom half ready for paint. I have some filler to put on both sides behind the doors.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My new crew member helped me turn some Snowman for Xmas presents. Just need the Mrs. to paint them now. ![]()

OK.... So I got the snowmen wrong.
Looked like carrots coming up to me earlier. And having Jennifer as a talented helper, you are rather privileged.

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
So the wife had my wish list on Amazon, which is broken into one for the 64', the garage, and my personal one. She did a good job of picking an assortment of stuff for Santa to bring. She almost bought me everything I need to finish the cab, and get the drivetrain fully done and installed for good. Only thing I need to buy are cab mounts and SS brake lines.
So here is what she bought. I have the coolest wife I could ask for. The truck is hers, so I don't have to argue too much about spending money on it as she is ready to drive it. So I have always wanted finned valve covers and oil pan. Wife bought them for me along with a new oil pump, pickup, driveshaft, one piece pan gasket, rear main seal, all hardware, and a radio and install kit for the 95' Chevy truck. Plus ball joints for the Camaro. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Couldn't resist had to see how it looked against the green engine paint. ![]() Also got a gallon of filler, polyurethane motor mounts, and a bunch of body work supplies. ![]() Now I just need to get over my cold and and get some time off. I plan to paint inside the finned areas engine color. Bret

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
I know, I hate when weather is holds up a project. Today it's supposed to be 62 degrees. It still may be too cold for paint.

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Yes I got the garage up to 58* last Weds but with it being 45* outside as soon as I opened the doors to ventilate I would have lost all my heat plus the wind was blowing fierce and I was afraid I would get dirt in the paint. I can wait. After all this time getting ready don't want to rush it and not have it come out good. With Texas weather it may be 75* before you know it.

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
New running shoes, a super nintendo, a digital scale, nose piercings, shaker cups for her smoothies. Benny's Lego spaceship from the Lego movie and a bunch of cosmetics stuff. We had$300 limits but she went overboard as she always does. Gotta love that woman

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Her loving Legos was a must for her to put up with me. Between her and myself and my 2 boys I think we had like 22 new sets for Xmas.
And here is a shot of my collection. My oldest son has about half as much. ![]()

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Thanks guys. Legos is one of my other passions.
Had a pleasant surprise package from the UK yesterday. Came from Rian who stuffed it with a bunch of cool stickers and Classic Van and pick up magazine featuring his 66' Chevy. How cool. Also included was a dish cloth for the Mrs. Which she liked and said that Rian is good in her book. ![]() ![]() Going to search for a tank top propane heater this morning for the Garage and see if I can't warm it up enough to get the valve covers and pan painted.

Re: 64 C10 Stepside "Jaybird"
Found me a new toy for the garage. Heated the garage from 42* up to 55* in less than hour. And that is with no insulation and on the lowest setting. Was able to get my valve covers painted.
![]() ![]() All masked off. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I love these valve covers. It is apparent now the air cleaner has to go and a matching one acquired.

Magazine and stickers were an absolute pleasure to send.
Your engine looks absolutely awesome with the covers.
