Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
Thanks Mike. It was nice to enjoy the truck a little since it took longer than I had hoped for with the ls swap. I'm still getting a little vibration during deceleration so I think the pinion angle needs a little more adjustment. I got tired of fighting it on jack stands so I'll take it back to the shop and do it on a lift next time I'm home. I also couldn't resist a little part throttle romp and it felt impressive. Once I get the kinks worked out it should be fun

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
Tim you never did post anything about the front of the motor after you changed the pulley set up, that's the kind of stuff that really helps other guys out when they go to do a swap of their own, details man details!

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
The only pulley that's been changed so far is the power steering pump. I actually changed the ps pump and ps pump/alternator bracket over to the truck style to avoid notching the frame again when I moved the engine back. The entire front drive will hopefully change once I gather all the parts. You'll have to wait for those details

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
I don't have any updates at all. Just been enjoying the truck when I can and debating on keeping it or not. Any idea what I should ask for it if I decide to sell?

Have you checked on sold trucks on ebay? That is a low starting point. I have noticed that trucks on there seem to sell pretty cheap. You can usually use it for a starting point. |

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
Figured the family hauler needed a little love so I leveled it and put some new wheels and tires. I'll get better pics after a good washing

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
Got the front rotors turned today and found a small transmission line leak. Got the leak fixed and the everything back together. After a quick spin around the block I'm regretting listing this thing

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
LOL it's one of the nicest pickups anywhere so I can't imagine the decision to sell it was an easy one and I can easily see how you could second guess that decision every time you drive it.

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
The truck should go to the new owner tomorrow. He knows quite a few people in our area with nice trucks so I know it's going to a good home.

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
Finally couldn't stand it and gave in. My helpers had to check it out and give their approval
Truck is pretty solid but left me stranded on the way home from picking it up. Was backfiring through the carb and now the fuel filter is bone dry. It has a big block 402 (for now) and was supposed to run good according to the previous owner. There's still gas in the tank so no clue why the filter is dry. It may have to wait a bit since we have a family vacation starting this Friday

Re: My first C10-LS2/4L70E swap
Judging by the photos it appears to be a solid old truck.
Watching with anticipation. |
