Same story over here - spring fever! Yanking trees, breaking up concrete, retaining walls, gravel... Any photos of the wheels in question?

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
I've finally got all the trees cut, now I am going to get a dozer for a few days and possibly an excavator to. Here's a pic of 7dos truck with the C57 wheels.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Thanks Scott, out of all the wheels I've looked at I keep going back to these. Of course I like a lot of the billet wheels, but, I'm not going to pay the "billet" price right now. Maybe a while down the road I'll take the plunge for a set of billets. I've just got a lot of irons in the fire this summer, dozer work, yard work, and possibly an addition to the garage.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Jason - I too really like those wheels. I have often wondered what they would look like with the inner part of the spokes powder coated a vintage gray.
Billets are expensive but.. if you haven't already, take a look at Raceline wheels. They're more than Coys yes but not as much as the intricate Billets (Bonneville, Heritage, Muroc, etc. ). The salt flat style wheels are really pricey. Can't go wrong with Coys .. absolutely.. but there's just no shine like Billet. ..just my .02 .. or wait a little while and maybe Keith will sell his .. Did you see the grey C5s on the parts board?

Nice, not selling them, that is not until the truck is done anyway
Jason I think those Coys will look awesome on your truck. Check out csfields build. He has a black truck with those same wheels, looks really good.

Keith, his truck does look good, it looks like his are chrome finish. For some reason I've always liked a polished wheel, I know it's a lot of work to keep them up but they don't "pop" as much as chrome. I will be happy just to get rid of the rusty rallies and the white wall snow tires......

I agree Jason, I'm not a fan of chrome either. Polished definitely looks better to me.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Took a big step today and ordered tires and wheels!!! Probably be a couple weeks to make the wheels so I'll keep a little suspense going. " Mothers Day" yard work this weekend so not much progress on the old truck. I did figure out the alt. not charging, it was pretty simple once I finally got it in my thick skull. My wife and I traded our Polaris RZR in on a new one so I did a little "customizing" on it this weekend also.

Can't wait to see what you went with Jason. I think you should just tell me now so I don't have to wait the couple of weeks, I'm impatient

14" Prius wheels?
I'm betting on the Coys. I really like those wheels too and had strongly considered them.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Chad guessed it... I went with the Coy C57 20x8.5 and 20x10. I talked with them about some of the horror story's I've heard, so far I got my invoice 30 minutes later and they guarantee the back spacing to be correct. I hope everything works out. They said 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to make them and ship to WV. I ordered my tires here from a local dealer so they should be here in a few days. The next step will be changing out the headers, new front and rear bumpers and a set of Fesler tail lights!!!

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Awesome choice, they will look great on your truck. Just hope they stick to their word. You shouldn't have to much trouble if you ordered 5.5" backspacing, it was trying to get the 5" backspacing that seemed to give everyone problems. What size tires you going with?

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Tires came but still have about a week left on the wheels. Coys said 2-3 weeks to make them, so hopefully next week. The last couple weekends I've been working on the new Polaris RZR that my wife and I bought. We had a '12 model that we rode quite often in the summer, my son just bought a '14 model which had power steering. After riding his she wanted a new one, so I was all up for it. I told her she could build this one however she wanted (I was very proud of her). So here it is, I know it's off subject since this is my truck build, she picked the bead lock wheels, aluminum roof, Pro Armor doors, windshield, and rear panel. I had the door frames and roll cage painted the same color orange as every thing else. I finished it all up this evening just in time for some weekend riding..... Back to the truck now, I promise

That's cool looking Polaris Jason, it's looks like you'll be having a lot more fun plowing snow next year.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Thanks Scott, I don't know about plowing, but they sure are fun "playing" in the snow... Good luck with your frame and Porterbuit parts for sale. That's a good deal for someone.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Thanks Jason, a guy bought the bedsides today so I thought I'd go ahead and list the frame. I'm pretty happy I was able to sell almost all of the project. Have a few small items and the frame. I'm going to keep the engine and rebuild it now that I have the space to mess with it here at the house.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
I like the new Polaris! must be tough to have "disposable" income . I'm still rocking my 93 Polaris quad.
Congrats on the new tires too. One step closer. I bet it sucks waiting on the wheels. |

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project
Mike, if I had a "disposable" income I would have a driveway full of 67-72's in every flavor. As far as the wheels they said 2-3 weeks, I'm just anxious because they will make or break the truck....
