I've been driving it for the last couple weeks when the heat is not too oppressive. Still have a few kinks to work out. My brakes stop the truck, but lack the power to really stop it to the full extent the Wilwood's should. I am only pulling about 14.6" of vacuum. I have power bled the brakes, manually bled and swapped boosters to see if I can get any improvement. I talked with Wilwood and they said I should go to full manual or hydroboost. I am leaning towards the hydroboost. I've been digging in to them and doing some research. Simple setup, just not cheap. We shall see. Maybe a project for the winter.

I've also got a weird blip in the idle when first starting it up. It idles up to 1700 for a split second and then drops in to it's normal startup routine. It acts like there is a slight vacuum leak. I need to dig in to it and check for leaks. Hopefully something simple.

Other than that, just trying to put some miles on it. Went to a car show on Saturday night. Didn't win anything, but had a line of people asking about all aspects of the truck. That was pretty cool.

Looks great man. Really enjoy all the detail. Where are you getting your battery cables? What sizes are you using for the main feeds like battery to - ALT, STARTER, ETC. I'm still going through your thread so apologies if you posted this info, I may be jumping ahead of my progress ...

The battery cables are both AC Delco side post

Positive: 2SD60XA
Negative: 2SD45X

Alternator to battery is from American Autowire: https://www.americanautowire.com/sho...connection-kit

Starter wire was part of the American Autowire body wiring harness. I believe it is 12ga. Same for the bulkhead feed wire from the starter, it is a 10ga.

Thanks for the info. Interesting I just got my american autowire kit from brotherstrucks today and it has that alternator kit inside of it. I bought their deluxe 20. I am relocating my battery under the frame though so I need to find cables. I heard welding wire is really good stuff so I may go see what airgas may have after work tomorrow.

A little update on my brakes. I swapped the booster for another tuff-stuff unit and low and behold, the brakes are working much better. It's hotter than hades here, so I have only tested a little. I need to re-bleed the brakes. When I slam on the brakes, the front left and rear right lock up (shortest lines on the front and rear systems). So that is promising.

Also picked up a set of TR5's to swap out these AC Delco plugs.

Just waiting for it to cool down. We are in our typical inferno season of 95+ 70%+ humidity.

Not yet. I did a run of 20 last fall and gave them away to friends and family. I am planning on making another run soon. I'll keep you updated.

Thanks for that! I have to admit, I have second guessed my 4:11 choice a bunch. I ran the numbers and in 6th gear with my tire height it will be spinning a tad over 2200rpm at 70 MPH. It's not as low as I'd like to cruise at, mainly for the extra noise it will produce. Call me juvenile, but I hope to do my share of stomping anyone with a giant useless wing bolted on the back of their 4 door import. Plus, as my daily driver I usually just stay within a 50 mile radius, so not too many long drives.

I have a 3:73 in mine with a 4L80e and I am running around 2200 at 70.

Thanks for watching. The wheels are 18x9 0 offset all around with 265/50/18 tires.

I actually fabbed it up myself. I bought a 4” 180deg bend from summit and used some silicone couplers to make it all work. I did weld on a little support tab. I think a page back in this thread there are some pictures of it.
