Man! I'll be so happy when I can make a post like that.

I just passed a year of work.... and the frame and suspension and
engine and trans were already built when I got her.

Tomorrow I'm making final preparations for putting the front clip on...It's happening Saturday.

One guy working alone. And, I guess that's what you get.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Bled the brakes.... and then broke the front line...Ordering some pre-bents from somewhere later today.

The boys showed up to put the front clip on. Bolted down the cab and front clip. The body lines are as straight as we could get them.
Later (after she's running), it's off to the body $hop (somewhere) for some straightening of the lines.... and MUCH later, to paint jail.

Put the hood on just because there were three of us...and we could!!!

But I now have an engine bay.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Met member Flint70step today. He was near my place, and came by a to look at my 67 K20 and 68 panel. We were going to adjust carb on the 67, but after pulling a few plugs, discovered 2 things. 1. it was tuned fine, 2., reason it smelled rich was 1 plug was toast. Flint was the first besides my kids to ride in the 67. Great guy.

Drove her for about an hour then parked her. Tried to start her up about twenty minutes later and ....nothing. Got some heat soak going. Had put a heat shield on awhile back and thought I had it beat. Planning the remote solenoid now. Hope that fixes the problem.

Nice work, if I could pinstripe like you, I would do the same thing all over my truck

my truck is a plain c10 so I added all the moldings on there, I also noticed that there is a lower molding all the way at the bottom but decided not to buy it for now who knows I may get it in the future.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

More work on the wife's 69. Removed the saddle tanks and the plastic lines that were run to add them. Removed the funky, scary rubber fuel hose that was run from the drivers side saddle tank all the way up to the fuel pump. Changed the door locks and and ignition switch to a single key. Moved the windshield washer bottle to the drivers side fender. Removed the old leaky trailer brake unit and ended up having to make a new line from the master cylinder to prop valve.
Yesterday we went to pick n pull and scored a pair of good inner fenderwells and a washer bottle bracket.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Got my winch box all put together and welded up.

Tomorrow I'll get that mounted up under the truck, and then make templates for the rest of the bumper out of some cardboard.

Anyways, this is sort of what I'm shooting for, less the turnsignals.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Stopped by my son's house and we did a little work on the '67 swb. Had to stop early so he and his wife could go buy a new clothes drier.

He got the front cab support slip-ons fitted and welded while I scrapped the sealer out of the drip rail and removed the old door seals. Then we took the windshield and rear window out. The gaskets appeared to be original, so it took a lot of cutting of them to get the window and windshield out. I almost forgot we took the doors off since we finished the outer rockers and they were just in the way. We will be using different doors.

The more work we do on the cab the more rust we find that needs to be repaired, it seems. Oh well it is ok, that way my son and I will be able to spend more time together.

Installed my Level 3 700R4, what a difference. Should have done this long ago. Love the 2000 stall and overdrive. Going to take a while to get used to this...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I don't post much on this part of the board, mostly on the 69-72 Blazer side. But I finely put shocks on my 1970 GMC. It still had the original ones on it. Well at 72,000 miles and 41 years I guess it was time for new ones! You old timers know what the original shocks look like, but you young guys may not. Here is a picture of the original shocks. Here is a original T-3 head light I had to replace while I was working on it. Sorry, it's bad picture of the T-3. (the flash was on when I took the picture) You can barely make it out the T-3 in the center of the blub. It rides a lot better with the new shocks but it still needs sway bar up front. I have one ready to go on but that will be project for another day.

Not that old and mine has the originals too! (not for long) Actually, someone a little older than me told me they were original spirals.
