Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I opened the rear barn doors on my '51 Panel to see how I could adjust them so the doors don't touch in the middle and the left one stops on the striker and not some random spot where the frame touches the door on the left enough to keep the door open about 1/2 inch without slamming it.

I started loosening the top body-side hinge bolts on the passenger barn door to see if there was any adjustment there but had to stop at 2 bolts because the wife came out and I'm technically not allowed to work on my truck until I finish some stuff in the house.

Can't figure that one out, but it cost me an hour for a trip to the hardware store for two quarter inch fine thread screws.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Thanks, everyone. Dan, I guess it's pretty obvious that I love chrome also. I have one more bit of chrome trim to install but I'm not in the mood to do it at the moment. It's the cab and door trim. For the time being I'm just going to drive and enjoy it.

I've always had issues with P-bucket. The gallery is the main reason I joined/use this site over Stovebolt. I guess if it doesn't come back soon I'll take my membership over to the H.A.M.B.

Well that's not something you do everyday, LOL.

Looks like the same frame stub but different rear end in the second pic. Speaking of pics, let's see some more of that truck. What's the plan for it?

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Despite resolving to do some work I did NOTHING and in fact probably slowed down my progress because my girlfriend and I traded in our Lance camper and bought a 5th wheel trailer this weekend

It's a monster. 2013 Brookstone Ruby. 35'-8".
No, it's not going on my '55 lol.
But now I've gotta spend to buy a fifth wheel hitch and a couple Honda generators - DOH!That's money that won't be going toward the '55 now.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

I've been having good luck removing rust with electrolysis on small parts so I decided to scale up. Built a 5 x 5' tank in my back yard yesterday and fired it up this evening.

Dan,
Now you need to build a cool old truck for pulling that thing.

Re: What Did You Do With Your Truck Today ?

Hi all,
Been a LONG time since I posted anything so here it goes. I've been busy getting the truck running and trailered it up to my buddies place where it was torn down again and gutted to do the body work. After months of blocking, high build and sanding to the point that my finger prints are all but gone it was ready for paint
so here is my little precious
now I just have to put er all back together
