Re: How about some pics of 47-59

I'm more of a new paint job guy myself but that looks great (minus the fresh paint job, haha).
nice stance. wheels/tires look good on there too.

Thanks! I like new paint, but this is my first new not paint! I love it! It gets so much attention and I wanted one car that I don’t have to be so anal with scratches dings and dents that I could drive anywhere... wish I did this a long time ago!

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

I can’t remember if I’ve posted pictures of my ‘55.2 since the exterior was finished but I’m always up for showin it off. I am SUPER happy of how it came out. The paint is exactly what I was looking for: The darkest, non-metallic, not-burgundy red.

Anyway, here it is:

Very nice! What red is that?
Kind of reminds me of the mid '60s Corvette Rally Red.

I'm curious about the paint finish. Between the Before pic on the trailer and the later pictures it looks as though you may have treated it with CLR or lightly wet sanded it. What; if anything, did you do?
Thanks! The original color is the blue, the original owner literally brushed on a silver rust treatment.. I replaced the lower cab corners and lower cowls and then tried to simulate a worn out silver paint job by sanding the silver off somewhat and then finished it by satin clearing the whole truck. If you click on my build under this post you can see it all step by step form the day I bought it until now.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Thanks you guys for the kind words.

It is 2012 (& a few later years) Honda Milano Red. I originally intended to use their San Marino Red but it was a little darker and I thought over-the-line heading toward burgundy....though a very pretty color.

PS: The first two pics are pretty accurate. The one at the end of my driveway was in bright sun and it makes it look MUCH brighter than it really is.

Nice pics. Thanks. Makes me think more 54s were produced than any other year of AD's.

It's called GM Bright Red.

It looks great. How did you decide on the color, see itlin a color book or on a truck somewhere?

post 3152, I wonder how much air flow restriction is caused by the velocity stacks being close to the underside of the closed hood.lol.
