Re: GM Semis

Since the Yellow Corporation has been in the news of recent for unfortunately closing their doors like the great CF did 22 years ago. I thought I would show off a few photos I found online, hopefully they have not been posted here yet of some crackerboxes and Jimmy's and a Chevy all in Swamp Holly Orange their corporate color. They chose that so no matter day or night or the condition of weather you would always know what trucks were theirs.

Very late production General. Not an SBFA model, but it does have square headlights:

What a shame. They sure were loyal to Omaha Orange GMs

Right, I'm not a big General fan, but that truck is nice.

Detroit power?

Any guess on the year of it?

I believe it's an '87. No idea on power, but it could be a Detroit 60 as GMC was installing them in the Generals by then.

Notice the grille is very similar to a Chevy Bison grille, not the usual General grille.

Re: GM Semis

Great picture. I think it's later than 1947, some of the trucks appear to be 1956's.

Sure is! Motor City was a GMC dealer at that location at least up through 1979. It's a Parkhouse Tire now.
