That's in the realm of subliminal advertising. You can bet they did research to get the "right" look for that label.

They don't call them Sugar Smacks anymore. They call them Golden Puffs now. I guess it sounds healthier.

It's like KFC changing their name to KFC instead of Kentucky Fried Chicken. They wanted to lose the fried part of the name.

I don't know who they think they're fooling. It's still the same stuff.

EDIT: I stand corrected. I was at the market today. They aren't called Golden Puffs. They are called Honey Crisps.

And Sugar Pops are now called Corn Pops.

Well I went to the market and this bugged me.

I buy this salsa. And now it's in jars that are maybe a little bigger than half the size that they were before. AND THEY COST MORE!!!

This is the new jar. I know it's hard to tell the difference from the pics but in person It's very obvious. The old one was way bigger and cost less.



And the old one I have in the fridge.



I know it's not a big deal. It's just cheap salsa. But it is irritating to get less for more.

I guess that study shows people would rather be duped than dealt straight. I sure am bothered more by smoke and mirrors sneak tactics than a simple and obvious price increase. This chicken chit, "Maybe they won't notice", tactic gets under my skin. There is a reason products come in the size packaging it does. We buy milk by the gallon, 1/2 gallon, quart, pint, 1/2 pint, not by the 120.6 oz, 59.8 oz, 30.3 oz, 13.7 oz, or 6.9 oz container.

It gets under my skin too. What do they think? I'm an idiot and won't notice. I am an idiot but not that much. Maybe? Maybe not?

I always thought that that guy that sued Subway for the foot long sandwiches not being exactly a foot long was a jerk with too much time on his hands. But now I'm thinking twice. If you give them inch they'll take a mile. Maybe he wasn't such a jerk after all....But he probably is.

My random photo... My black plates are going bye bye. I traded them for a nice set of blue ones because the mental patients that run the DMV won't let me use the black ones even though you could get black ones in 1970.

They know better than me.

Seriously? That's a new one on me. A question though.... how does the DMV know what color your plates are anyway? Also, don't they currently offer (for a fee, of course!) black plates?

Seriously yes. YOM plates for a 1970 commercial plate in CA. must be blue. You can get new black plates. I have them on my hearse and my C/20. But actual YOM plates have to be blue because according to the state that's what they came with.

And they know what color they are because you have to take them to the DMV for "Inspection' before you can use them.

It makes a lot of sense doesn't it?

That box looks far, far better than the one I received a couple days ago..... because I didn't actually receive it. A local PO employee placed it in a parcel locker, then put the key to the locker in someone else's PO box. We're hoping whoever got my package will bring it back to the PO, but nothing yet. While we wait, I have started the claim process.

My pups playing with their new toy... My ATM card.

My ATM card was really beat up so I ordered a new one. The bank assured me that the old one would still work. It didn't. It was declined when I tried to use it. 6 to 8 days to get the new one. Thanks B of A.

At least the dogs got a new toy.

6 to 8 days? I get a new one in 15 minutes at my credit union branch . Walk in show ID and return old card if it's still in my possession (last one I lost) .

Plus, the BOA is right up front with cutting back on branch hours or closing branches all together. You'd think they'd be right up on card replacement since without those their plan to close branches can't work

They closed the BOA branch up here. Then it was just an ATM. Then one day that was gone.

There is a little hayseed credit union here. I have an account there but they're almost never open and the people that work there seem like they were dropped on their head as a child. And their website doesn't work. I've gone to the branch, I've called them. It just doesn't work.

Sounds familiar. Our regional bank closed their branch here in town but kept the ATM for awhile, and now it's gone. There's another bank here and I can use their ATM, but first I have to go to my bank's website and transfer money from the account I want to use to the account they want me to use. Then the other bank's ATM is free. All this to improve their customers' banking experience, haha!

Yeah right! They really care. They always tell you that over and over again when you're on hold for 45 minutes because they are experiencing high call volume.

BOA said they would email me a survey about my customer service experience. I told them that that wouldn't be a good idea.

Go paperless to save the environment. I tell them all the time what a load of crap that is. "You mean to save you money, don't you? If it was about saving trees there wouldn't be extra fliers in my bill and you wouldn't be mailing me your solicitations."

It's a lie on calls where they tell you the call is being recorded for training and quality control purposes. I ask, "If that's true then why isn't the quality improving?", and say, "I am being told the call is being recorded so that anything I say can be used in court, if things come to that". I hate being lied to
