Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
I'd leave the billet grill in there! Man your truck is awesome! One question, is the rear window a flush mount on the out side or something? (I just found your build thread via another thread and am curious

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Truck is looking amazing.
I would go with the map pockets as well. To me the black works well with the black inserts on the seats and black accents you have in the rest of the interior. Have you thought about a 73-74 grille on there? The extra depth really gives it some character.

The door panels look great. The whole frikken truck does, but the two-tone door panels freshens up the OEM look without being too much. Love what you've done.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
The pics look awesome dennis!! But I still dont think the pics do the truck justice, seeing it in person showed all the attention to detail and how clean of an install it really is. I ended up getting rid of my blue truck I brought by and showed you last year, but picked up a new project a few weeks ago, check it out if you get bored. I think I put it in my signature, but dont know if I did it right. I ended up getting a 5.3 from the guys you told me about at specialized parts planet, so now I am jammin out on getting it cleaned and wired up. Im hoping I can get it all wrapped up by the time the nice weather comes, then I can cruise out and check your finished product out

I wonder if I may pick your brain on a rumer I read recently about being able to swap lite duty van front hubs for the 1/2 ton 5on5 to get the 5 on 4.3/4 bolt pattern.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Dennis,
I know you've heard it all throughout your build, but dude... your truck & determination to complete it, is very inspiring. I'm about to undertake a project of this magnitude as well, and will remember you and your build all the while. Often asking myself, I'm sure, WWDD? LOL! It really goes to show that having a wide knowledge base to draw from, even for guys w/ only a little know how, is priceless. My hat's off to you, and the band of die hard square lovers on this board. Thanks for sharing your experience, and would love to put the pedal through the floor someday lined up next to you! -Shannon |
