I haven't had an opportunity to find out yet. We're stuck in a never ending winter and the dozen times I've had it out since I removed them it's been cold or rainy or both. I'm curious myself. It should make a noticeable difference since heat will easily disperse with the amount of ventilation available.

Having driven it mostly in crappy weather, I have been somewhat impressed with the containment of water spray in the rain. Retaining the entire inner fender above the tire, the engine and firewall haven't gotten any dirtier than they did before the side panels were eliminated.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Hey thanks on the paint split......That little gold stripe that runs between the blue and white worked out awsome..There were a few challenges with splitting it there like the door jambs for example. But once we figured out that the jambs had to be done the same way right throught , it turned out really well. Thanks again

Well my cousin came over today so I had a helper. We pulled the bed, hood, front clip, doors, gas tank, and all of the wairing and dash stuff.

I pulled the master cylinder and heater core assembly.

Realizing the hardest part of getting the truck done is getting all parts in at the same time...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Took the day off to paint the frame while the cab is off at the body shop getting some metal implants.

I'm a little embarrassed showing this picture after seeing the gloriousness of towersgg's newly coated frame.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Stripped out a '63 930 cab (C-30) that someone in the past had tried to move with slings through just the cab(doors open) (yes, the whole truck, duallies and all)........you guessed it ....it buckled.
too bad too 65000 miles on it.
Note worthy parts:
Recently recovered seat bottom
Replaced and near new fuel tank
Brand new looking sending unit
All rubber parts in mint condition(less door seals)
Deluxe heater
Uncut dash center
I thought I did pretty well for a freeby

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Today I swapped manifolds on the 67 and got it running, Then I cleaned out the interior of the 60 and got the clutch and brakes pumped back up then I got it running( been sitting since September of 2010. I then went for a cruise around town and then ran out of gas.

I forgot how much I love driving my old trucks. Theres just somthing about that Old truck smell, gear noise and clicking lifters that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling and puts a huge smile on my face.
