I just love the rear end on this one. (That's what he said)

My 50 Packard. You can tell that I took the picture because my dumb finger is in the shot.

Take the back seat out, you'd have a nice "sleeper"...

Yeah it's crazy how big it is for a 2 door coupe. They gave you a lot for your money back then. 72 years old and still kicking.

I doubt that they will be able to say that about me.

I'll be darned Paul, for some reason I thought you were a bit older then me. I made it past 72 last month.

Nope. I'm only 61 but that's a lot in dog years.

I feel like I'm 161 years old. The price you pay for hard living. The chickens come home to roost.

I can't complain but I still do. Especially in the morning.

Congratulations on hitting the ole seven two.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Went up to Whidbey Island this weekend. Some pics of Deception Pass, and a pic of the jets on static display for Whitney Island Naval Air Base. These are the ones that flew out of here for years. No idea if they still fly them. The ones we saw flying around this weekend have the twin up right tails (sorry my jet knowledge is stuck in the distant past

I see the Deception Bridge you took ,,or did you take a ferry ? I remember all the Jets flying over Lopez from Whidbey Island ever day when I was up on Lopez

Ferrys are too unreliable these days, cant get people to staff them. Which is so weird considering its a good paying job with good state bennies and retirement.

So we drove around the other end of the island instead of hopping the ferry. 40 years ago the San Juan Islands (Lopez is one of them) was part of my territory when I was in the copier/printer business. I had a real estate customer on Lopez that would fly down in his 172 and pick me up in Arlington ... Fly me in and fly me out. I took one of my sons with me once when he was still a little guy. Good times back in the day. Never really appreciated it back then though.

^ I went there before my eldest son was born, so before June '84. It was just damp enough that the soil stuck to my shoes, I gained about 2" of height. Don't remember that truck, though.

If you've been to Bodie then you have seen possibly/probably the most photographed car in America....the infamous 37 Chevrolet Coupe.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Indeed I did, I took a shot of it too but yours is better. That was a fun trip. I took my '66 and although it blew an exhaust manifold gasket, the mighty 283 soldiered on. (Albeit sounding more like a classic tractor than a classic truck).

My mother had a 37 Chevrolet coupe as a teenager. She would talk about the hijinks that she and her friends would get into in that car.

It was hard to imagine my mom as a crazy teenager. She was NOTHING like that when I grew up. She was tougher than a 2 dollar steak. Put her foot in my rear end more times than I'd like to remember.

It didn't help... Mama Tried.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Its weird it came up, yesterday I went down a YouTube rat hole of older country music. A genre that I really really like. I don't listen to any of today's country artists. My loss I suppose.

Never heard that version before. If I would have heard it without knowing who the band was Im pretty sure Grateful Dead would never have come to mind.

That whole Deadhead thing popped up when kids my age were in college. It was a thing those whole where off to improve their lives through a mommy daddy paid for college education to feel they still had a rebel streak came up with. I watched my friends all come home from college talking this "Deadhead" business. I guess the band (management) came up with the idea. That's when the Grateful Dead became a business and the stickers came out and they started selling pre-tie dyed imprinted t-shirts.
I never fell into all that, yet I have always identified with the band as being crucial in my growing up
