Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Installed the rebuilt 700R4 two weeks ago. Shifts like new, but the mileage on the truck is horrible. I'm blaming the old engine. lol

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
California just came out with them. $40 environmental plates.
They call the "Retro Plates", or something like that. So, they are not as cool as original black plates. Same colors. But they have seven letters/numbers plus a 1/2 space anywhere you want to place it. Already, I couldn't get C10. But CI0 was available. So, I snagged them.

Man! Thanks for posting colgad.
When I looked up, I saw that my "Premium" subscription to the Forum had run out. Best $25 I spend every year. Been doin' it for a lot of years. So, I guess I could say that today I put the plates on *and* got the truck info set up for the next year.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Couldn't really get motivated enough to get under the truck and in the mud to pull the bad starter, and drop the oil pan (again). Damn intermediate shaft won't seat the distributor all the way, so I got another one to try.
Anyway, I decided to take the plunge and cut the dash for a stereo. 😱 I'm pretty happy.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Played around with this 9'stepper again today.
I figured I'd pull all four wheels too check those brakes but i started banging out the rear fenders. They were pretty much smashed flat on the top. I wanted too check all the brakes out.but it was ovious I needed too clean all the mud and gunk before anything. Out came a barrowed pressure washer (kid burned mine up) Lil " scrapping and got pretty wet but the mounds of crap are gone. Finished the day clr ing the ds rear fender it was the last part that needed it. Tommarow when it's all dry out there I'll get too them brakes.

But I'm gonna have to do something. Currently have no front plate, and the rear one is so damaged it's almost unreadable. No tickets yet, but been pulled over with warnings twice already.

Well it wasn't today but I swapped a tremec t56 magnum into my 72 chevy c10 swb fleetside. Much better performance response. Not cheap though

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Well checking the brakes didn't go over too well.
During the bleeding process too freshen up the fluid it lost all pressure except when you stomp on the pedal then the pressure bleeds off rite away. I'm thinkin the master cly went kaput. Cause there is no leaks anywhere. One thing I'm not sure about is that button on the valve never had too fiddle with one.

Top coating my hood hinge springs. Those are very nearly done. Using a set of come-alongs to spread the springs out a bit.
