That has to feel real good Tim. Looks like that garage was made just to fit.

We ended up not getting that one which ended up being great for us because we just got accepted on one that is over half an acre with a ton of parking and ALOT of great extras!!!

Congratulations!

Sometimes things happen for a reason. We missed out on a big place and I'm so glad we did. We got the place across the street which is much smaller. Perfect for just the two of us. I see the smoke coming out of the chimney of the big place and am happy that I don't have to heat that place. And with 2 air conditioning 2 ton units to cool the place the electricity bills aren't going to be pretty. I feel like I dodged a bullet.

Same with the last place. It was expensive. I was going to put 900K down which would still give me a 400K mortgage. It was a good deal at 1.3 million, but at the end of the day it was still 1.3 million bucks. That's a big bite to take.

Careful with all that land. If you're like me it'll be full of old cars and trucks in no time. I have a 1.5 acre lot at my desert place and it's filling up fast.

I built it to back the K2500 into, believe it or not. It's 12' wide. I have the somewhat long-term project of moving my barn that has me cramming things in all my other buildings. I decided to put the project in there because it left a lot of room for other stuff. No bed on the project truck, but that doesn't stop it from hauling a load of cherry slab wood with fenders and doors loaded on top of that! Built overhead, down off the rafters, is a lumber rack. I'm using every inch. Under the back are my NP205 and NP465 stash, behind it is the hood, and next to it are the bedsides.

It's a mess. I have to keep reminding myself how nice things will be once I get that barn move done. So many things hinge on it. I just need to gather some more things to make it happen. Once that's done I'll be able to have both trucks under roof., and room to work on them!

S-K, that SWB does really look like it belongs there. Even matches the trim color on the garage. Somehow it looks to me like a spider backed into its hidey hole. Good progress. It will be nice for you when you finish the barn move and can get everything settled where it belongs.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

After a rocky start my wife’s bike decide to crap out . Mid shaft snapped bike has a similar setup as our trucks two piece drive shaft basically the tail shaft sheared at the bolt . So we unloaded all the gear and she drove the car and I road up to New Hampshire for Laconia bike week just doing four days . So instead of getting here around three we got her close to seven about 290 miles .

The fix for the bike is either tear down the trans and replace the shaft or drill and tap it for a large bolt to hold the yoke in place . Which means either way the rear tire and swing arm have to be removed going to try drilling it

Sounds like it worked out perfect for yall. Yeah... we have a few toys and my gf is already planning for more projects with all out parking hahahaha. Its great because everything is setup for parking in the back behind an 8ft privacy fence so that's always a plus. older quiet neighborhood which we love.

Looks like it is split with a man gate on the one side or a full drive through on the other side , good thought into that .
It's going to look sharp when done
Nice work.
How do you get the arch on the top piece ??

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Not today, but Thursday I paid my electric bill. Yes I sure did. I walk around to my driveway and there's a Potomac Edison pickup in my driveway and I see a guy. He was dropping off a nasty note prior to cut-off. Middle of the month is when it's due. I felt surprised but more concerned about hurrying up to pay. I guess I'm riding a month behind, so cut-off to cut-off?

I call to pay and am only asked the amount I always pay (avg pmnts), nothing about past due amount. I call back to check balance, which didn't register my payment yet, and was told balance was amount I just paid and it is due 6/24. Now I'm really scratching my head. The guy had stuck the notice in my door, then grabbed it and handed it to me. I didn't see an acct# on it. I go look it over again and that's when I saw it was for my neighbors behind me!

That's great for me, I sure got paid up quick. But pretty awkward now. I decided to be a chicken about it. I waited till Dad and Meemah left for work yesterday, snuck up on the porch, and stuck the notice in the door. I know nut'ing!

Years ago something similar happen to me.
It was about the Water bill.

I get home and turn the facuet on no water.

First thing I think is a big leak under the house or line to the road.
Well in a few minutes I find a Lock on the meter.

I immediately go get my direct deposit paid paper copy of my bill.

I call the After hours emergency phone #
A guy answers the phone.

Guy: Hello
Me : My water has been cutoff by mistake.
Guy NO IT HAS NOT. I cut it off because you did not pay your bill.
Me: I can show you the bill. Besides that if you don't come out here and remove it ,I will cut it off with a torch
Guy: I think your trying to Hoodoo me.
I will be right out there.

30 minutes or so later.
A big 7 foot tall guy shows up.
I was younger back then and Mad.
So that did not phase me

Keeping a long story short.
He was mad when he took the lock off.
He asked what address this was.
I told him.
And he asks, where a certain address was and it was my Neighbor that didnt pay the bill.

Then an hour later he called back and apologized to me and said he had a very hard day that day.

That gate is looking very nice. I don't believe that I've ever been so elegantly refused access to the side of someone's house ; )

When I did disconnects I always had the "milk run' customers. The people that I had to visit every month like clockwork. It was routine. They wouldn't pay until they saw my smiling face.

There was one guy. (nice guy) He repaired cars in his driveway. He was always home and always paid me. That's just how he paid his bill.

So I show up as usual. Same old same old. He pays the bill and I get in my truck and leave.

I'm driving away and I see him chasing me yelling. So I stop. He runs up all out of breath.

It turns out the disconnect was for his next door neighbor that I had never had a collection on before. Neither of us had noticed. We were just going through the motions.

We got a laugh out of it. He was lucky to catch me because he paid the bill in cash and it wasn't even his bill.

Turns out his neighbor had died. That's why the bill wasn't paid and I had never been to that house before. We both just assumed it was him.

I hated that job. But this guy was always cool. Never a complaint, always friendly and trust me I didn't get too much of that. I had a few customers like this guy. I guess their philosophy was when the guy shows up it's time to pay the bill. That's just how they did it.

I've got a million stories like that. It was a crazy job.

I got to know my process server pretty well there a while back. It's not what you think! I'm not saying I've never been late or been cut off but I never saw this guy before. It was cordial. This leave a note thing is something new. I guess they come by about a week before cut-off date. I'm sure glad they do that! A while back they stopped letting us pay the guy who comes to do the disconnect. It's already too late when you see them.

EDIT: I forgot the funny part. The bill showed usage last month was 5x higher than last year, so that had me trying to figure what happened there

I call it death by a thousand cuts because it sure feels like that. There may be a more technical name for it…

My un-named project is now out of public view, patiently waiting for its time to shine. Hmm maybe that would work. Time to Shine.
