I knew there had been past issues too, but at the time he was here in Colorado a couple years ago he was clean, and life was good. I don't know if the separation drug him back down.

I'm sitting here at my desk in shock. Utterly effing shocked.......

I'm totally shocked too. I hope the seperation/divorce isn't to blame though im sure his (ex?) wife will carry some guilt from it.
