Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I don't usually post anything but 72s with air, but this one came up in Dallas, and looks pretty original. Needs a bit of rust repair, but not much.

1969 C/10 with factory air. Guy says he has new rockers for it. $3950

Dry loaded longhorn camper special cst

Factory 402 big block, automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, working factory tachometer, original wheels with nice hubcaps, air condition truck, but missing some of the air stuff. Not rusty, clean CA title in non-op. Pretty rare truck, being a Longhorn edition with a factory 400 big block. Hard to find! A good truck to restore. It has both CA blue license plates from new. I have new Longhorn emblems, new door weather stripping and new carpet sill plates. It has a fresh tune up, plugs, cap, rotor, points and wires. New battery and recent oil change with new filter. $4,500 firm. If you see this ad, it's still for sale. Call 760-519-3478 or text 760-519-3479. Located in north San Diego county 15 minutes north of Escondido.

I've personally seen the k20 in Kalispell. It's a converted 4wd - nicely done but not original.

Seat is not from 1972 either. Looks sort of like a buddy bucket seat.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

The 4x4 k20 from Columbia SC appears to have slight sheet metal damage to passenger side roof. Looking close at the picture it looks like something in the top corner of the windshield. Other than that it looks like a good candidate for a restoration or a good driver. If it wasn't an automatic I would have already made the trip down to look at it.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I'm continually jealous of the iron available elsewhere in the country. This is pretty typical of what is local to me. I know this isn't the craigslist duds page but I have to vent a little.

https://longisland.craigslist.org/ct...192034775.html
Went to look at this 67 CST 327 auto ps pb air big window lwb with my father as he's getting the itch for a c10 again after I bought mine. Described as having "some rust you can fix or drive as is" and being running and driving. Turn out to be a bondo special with nearly every panel needing replacement or patch work including everything from the kick panels down on the cab. The cab supports were basically nonexistent and a few good bumps would knock the cab clear from the frame if you dared to "drive it as is". All for the low asking price of $5500. Unfortunately dad isn't too keen on buying something not in front of him but I think I'm wearing him down on going Roadkill style.

I feel your pain, I'm from southwest Pennsylvania, and there is practically nothing decent near me. There are basically 2 types of trucks available, trucks that are rotted beyond repair, and trucks that have been restored that bring big money.look at it this way, a 2 or 3 day road trip is well worth it versus a months worth of work cutting out rusted panels.

Growing up in the rust belt (Ohio) myself I certainly can sympathize. Live in the North Carolina now. I've lived here for the last 26 years. When I first moved here in 91 you couldn't drive a block without seeing one or two decent 67-72 trucks sitting around and most could be bought fairly inexpensively. Today they are few and far between but still can find a few. The prices are certainly climbing and the quality is decreasing but never the less they're some left in the wild. I definitely think you're going to have to get out of the North East to find something that not going to require a ton of sheet metal work.
Good luck with your quest.

Thx Pete, I forgot about that with this one - I think it's been posted here before. Agree, nice truck no matter how you look at it - but a good thing to know if someone is really interested in this one.
