Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Here's the funny photo of our bedroom. Nobody can pack a room like I can!!! A 3000 square foot homes worth of stuff in our 15 by 20 master bedroom.
Den has already had a small nuclear device detonated today in preparation for the framing crew.

Make sure you do a build thread on your house so we have something to read. Alternate Tinkerings is where my garage build is. I'm sure everyone will want to see your attention to detail on your house also.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Dang, I looked at this thread when you first started and thought this will be a cool build, but for some reason I never subscribed and it drop off my radar. now you've got 117 pages of build and 2911 posts! It really did turn out awesome and I am kind of glad I re found it at the end, this way I did not have to wait for updates.

I served as a missionary in Southern Uganda back in 05 building the African Bible College and it really changed my life and perspective. I'm praying you get this opportunity to go, sounds like you've been on trips.

Just a few pictures of what's up. I'm doing most of the demo, so I haven't touched the truck in over a week.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

At first I was thinking,"your children are geting big and will be on their own soon" ,why go bigger?

Then I see the room on the end. Must be for 'Young Frankenstein' to have its own heated / air cond. room with pics of it being created on the wall. After all it is a part of the family since you gave life/ birth to it ,um him, Master!

PS The wife needs a pink Mrs Frankenstein.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Here is a picture of the front elevation that I came up with after much study and travel around Pasadena, CA. I am trying to mimic a 1920s Craftsman Bungalow built as they would on the west coast. It's just one of my favorite styles, modest - but with many details. Rustic and part of nature - stone, wood shake shingles, green colored roof to blend in. The exact opposite of a McMansion.

Really only adding about 300 heated square feet.

The best part is the huge front porch (14 by 38) that we will be able to share conversation with all who pass by. Might even get in a word of witness here and there!

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

So where's the new shop going. You are putting a new shop in right!! Or is there a big enough garage for that beast of a truck.

The shop was the first thing to go in 4 years ago, it's 28 by 36. Remember, we've discussed this already - the missionaries live above it.

I actually measured it compared to a 2002 Silverado which is what the frame is from. Young Frankenstein is 6 inches shorter from bumper to bumper.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.

Very nice! Love the look and feel. Very warm and inviting between the large porch and the materials.

So is that upper area going to be a fully vaulted ceiling with beams or is it attic space?
