Re: 1969 Short Wide
Thanks Jason. The nice thing about driving an old truck that far, you learn everything you want to change or upgrade...

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Where do I begin....
1.) CPP Tight gear box 2.)New wheel(s) up front (that aren't bent)/ vibration at 75 annoying as it gets...I'd like to pull the trigger on a new set of billet rims but that is high $$$$ 3.) Headlamp upgrade. 4.) Fuel system total redo, baffled tank, new in tank pump. 5.) Fuel filler ventilation? Not sure about this one.. I knew it was gonna suck but it was worse in Texas for whatever reason. I had hell filling up a few times. 6.) New push on door seals from Precision. 7.) Better shocks up front. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Sounds like you had one heck of a road trip. I need to get mine down off jack stands and start enjoying some of this nice weather. I still have my rallies if you're needing some replacements. 6.5 front and 8 rear.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Thank you Sir, good to be back! Just spent that last 2 years building a '49 Chevy...totally stock. Didn't think too many would be interested in that so I did not end up doing a build thread. However it leaves for Washington state today so time to move on to something new.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
I haven't been working on any restoration projects since I finished my truck but I always have something going on at my place.
Also, if you have followed along with this build you know I'm really slow.... With that, I wanted to share my latest project. It's a 35'X50 add on to my existing 30'X30' shop. I now have 4 bays to work in and keep my stuff safe from the Oklahoma weather. It has been a long and painful process but I'm pretty much ready to use it now. Thank you to everyone that volunteered their time to help along the way! I couldn't have done it without you. Keith, Garrison, Justin, Amy, Landen (EightiesOnly). TC (Harley Guy) Peyton, (P-DAWG'85), Mark (Crash_OK) What I started with: I made a model of the addition using Solidworks. Dirt work begins: |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Thanks! It's pretty cool to finally have it close to being done.
Thanks TexasLS1. The green truck is my nephews. We don't have a build thread on that one yet. He picked it up about a year ago. We are in the process of getting it running. It came with a rebuilt 454 long block just stuck in it. It was a basket case to say the least..... We are close to making it run though. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Who says it needs a house in front of it and not a bed and kitchen inside it?

Re: 1969 Short Wide
This is my first time going through your build thread; there's lots of great content! I just have a few comments: You've got a killer truck. Your shop extension is quite impressive, looks like a great place to work and hang out, or live (haha)? That nephew of yours has a neat little '67, you have to keep us up to date on that one if he doesn't. Lastly (and just out of curiosity), why do you have the steering wheel in your truck oriented like that?

One thing I will add, I've done many partial restorations and repaints. This was my first true frame off restoration. By the time I finished, I was pretty burnt out on doing anything on it. It's hard to explain but I really didn't want to touch it. That's why I've never fixed little things that bother me. Call it lazy, unmotivated or whatever. I now have a nice shop to do the list. |
