Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Got rid of the twisted old 46 year old bumper and installed a brand new one from classicparts. Thankfully I also ordered a new set of bolts cause a couple of them snapped when trying to get them free even after soaking in rust penetrating oil.

installed the rear bumper.

Wife got home as I was finishing up. She asked what was I doing, and when I told her she just said... Oh, I didnt notice it was missing and walked in the house.

my truck hasnt had a rear bumper since the day I bought it..... I just shook my head and finished putting my tools away.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

You drill a hole in the bottom of the door and run the hot wire to a constant 12 volts. Then the ground to the door jam ground so when you shut the door it turns off. The flash washed it out.
I bought them off E Bay!
Here is his add.
Takes about a week and half to get them.

66Clow your drop looks good. What tire sizes do you have on in the pictures. Looks perfect man. I'm thinking of the same drop. Did you uses ECE? Spindles/springs/shocks? Is your drives haft close to the cross member? Thanks in advance I'd like to do this soon.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Went to take my daughter for a ride this weekend, engine turned over, and then starter wasn't turning the flex plate. Looked under the truck and found this. Seems to be a common problem with the aftermarket PMGR starters. Tried installing a replacement from Napa and it was bad out of the box so I spent $3.60 on 3 new machine screws to mount the starter to the mounting flange (thanks to some great comments on the Summit site). I'm really glad this happened in my driveway and not 60 miles from home!

Getting ready to start the rust repair, removed the bed today at work. Drove it home about 8 miles on the city streets with my make shift tail lights. Fully functional of course.

When I could not get enough hood to fender gap(on passenger side) with my aftermarket hood, decent gap on driver's side I put a hopeful ad on Craigslist.Jim not only had an hood in excellent shape but drove over an hour to deliver it,so I learned that when you get disgusted and don't know what to do next---it is going to work out.
