Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Made up the new plugs leads (I'm NEVER buying a universal set again, horrible job either that or I need a better crimper) and fitted them to the new distributor cap, changed the plugs and fitted the cap and leads, all in the right order as well! It seems to have cured my misfire and I tweaked the idle mixtures down so its not running eye-wateringly rich any more. Still needs something tweaking as its still not running right, think I need to redo the timing now everything else is done.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Boy it does look good! Installed the glovebox light, door pin switches and courtesy lights I picked up from Lonerlife. They worked perfectly. Well worth the $30. My 10 year old helped me today. Good times.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Just found some little ***** has chucked a fair sized rock over the five foot fence that sits on top of an eight foot retaining wall at the back of my garden where my truck is currently parked and smashed the rear window on the camper shell I fitted recently. I have a feeling its probably the teenage kids from one of the houses on top of the wall but I can't be sure so can't chuck it back through their kitchen window which is what I feel like tbh. All I can say is we move house on wednesday into a farmhouse in the middle of the countryside surrounded by farmland rather than being hemmed in by about eight other houses so thank god I only have three more days in this crackhead ridden toilet of a town.

Came home one day to about a dozen broken lemons in the yard. The dip****s in the house behind didn't like my flag and proceeded to throw lemons at it, splattering fruit all over the side of the house and breaking the vinyl siding. Its a miracle they didn't break the window.

I figured it was some teenagers.

I picked up the lemons and went and talked to the parents. Turns out it was like 3 couples, all under 25. The 'kid' who I was pretty sure did it pulled up in a car while I talked to his roommates and girlfriend. The little hoodlum wouldn't even get out of the car, I'm not THAT mean and ugly looking. I think he saw the big bag of lemons and he just looked guilty as ****. This after I helped them look for their dog a few weekends earlier.

The funny part was his GF had given us her email address after the dog address... And left her Facebook not private... The thinks you learn about people, and their boyfriends on probation, and how much pot they like to smoke...

Anyways, glad to hear you can move... I bought this house a couple of years ago and I'll be here for a while.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Cleaned, sanded down and painted up a stock air cleaner I got from a junkyard. Except for some surface rust it was in perfect shape. No more cheesy aftermarket air cleaner.

In the process I also discovered that the mechanical ignition advance was frozen in the extended position and killing my performance. So I took rebuilt and recurved the distributor.
