Re: Build #2 Crusader!
How's that stereo coming? I'm really curious to see that dash finished up with the double din stereo mounted in it.

Re: Build #2 Crusader!
Got my SPI epoxy primer in. The nice thing about SPI's Epoxy primer is, it is very Flexible. I guess if your gonna paint your dash this would be the primer to use. I decided at the last minute that I was going to roll it on. Im thinking maybe the roller would leave some texture... It did. Im still on the fence about it. Will see how it looks with some gray interior paint on it.
Ill shoot the gray tomorrow. |

Re: Build #2 Crusader!
I put the dash in the truck to test fit everything one more time. while I had it in there I decided to installed the radio and the trim. Oh Snap! It is bad a$$ looking. I didnt realize until it was too late that I forgot to snap a few pics before I took it out again. Sorry guys! The front speakers I ordered will be here on Monday. When i get them installed Ill put the dash back in. Hopefully for the last time and Get you some photos.
In the mean time I got the Power window and lock harness shipped in the other day. Looking at this thing Im thinking OMG this is going to be a job. Im sure it wasn't easy getting it out of a truck, but going back in... I think is going to be a big PITA. |

Re: Build #2 Crusader!
Sorry for the delay guys I just got the speaker grills finish up tonight. I got the wiring for the power windows and locks installed not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. but it was a biiitch trying to get some of the connectors from inside the door jamb to under the dash. Now I just waiting on a couple of switches to come in. I still have a few more days doing wiring under the dash for the remote start/ keyless entry. before I can install the dash for the final time. but in the mean time here are some pics of the speaker grills.
let me know what ya'll think |

Re: Build #2 Crusader!
Very nice on the dash. Have you thought about putting some sort of trim around the vin hole to clean it up a little?

Re: Build #2 Crusader!
That really turned out well. The texture is great. You could use black front dash trim to match the speaker grills and vents, but it'd have to carry over into the doors. Thinking out loud here.lol I'm still geeking over you guys with brides that'll get into the hobby like that and let you build something for them. Looking good!

Re: Build #2 Crusader!
Here are a few more things that got done. I put in the headliner and the trim. What a drastic change from before not having any trim or headliner. I also painted and wired in a new LED dome light. Me and the wifey put in the rear window. now it has all it glass.
If some of you remember, I had made places for grab handles to go through the headliner and bolt to the roof way back on post # 114. Now that the headliner is in I haven't been able to locate their exact location. I dont wont to start poking holes in the liner until I find them, and I Dont really wont to take the liner down unless I have too. Ill have to think of something. |

Re: Build #2 Crusader!
You might have to pull the headliner trim down on the sides anyway. If i remember correctly the b-pillar trim go under the side trim. That would at least give you a chance to find you holes.
Looks nice. Where did you get that dome light?
