Thanks for checkin it out. It's been a lot of work and money but I've learned so much, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Just got some parts back from the nickel plater. I'll be sure to post some pictures tomorrow. Stay tuned

Man, thank you for the compliment. I am absolutely dying to get tires and see this thing sit on the ground. I noticed in your Avatar you're from Turlock?? My dad and I used to drive 7 hours to go to that swap meet every year since I was about 5 years old. I actually got my tilt column from a guy at Turlock!!

Andrew, How reasonable is the nickel plater versus the powder coater? I deal with this nickel plated stuff everyday at work, but I never considered it for my build until I saw yours. I like the contrast.

That's cool. The only thing I remember was how freakin cold it gets and how many diecast cars there are, haha. My dad used to sell a ton of camaro parts there with a guy named Robert. That's an awesome swap meet

Are you referring to the price?

I've found the nickel plater to be about the same as powdercoat, maybe even a little cheaper. The last batch of things I got done cost me 40 bucks. This batch cost me 60. The guy does real good work. This time he kept one of my tailgate latches cause he wasn't happy with how it turned out and he wanted to re-plate it. The company is called Goldtronix in Mooresville, locally owned and family operated. Great people

I broke a few of the tabs off the back so I could get out the old blue emblem. Then I went to a local carbon place and they let me grab a scrap piece out of the bin for free. Then drew up a pattern, cut it out on a ban saw, and JB welded that sucker in

I've made a little progress, just got back from my grandpas in CA and scored a few parts. Everything is original, except the emblems are re-painted
