I already put some pics a few months ago over on the 60-66 board, but I wanted to chime in here.

i have asked this a few other places on here and was wondering if a person can still buy these tires. i am thinking of doing kind of an old school 4x4 and wanted to try and keep this style of tire on my truck. thanks for any help

A.T. RockDriller,

That is a cool utility bed '63 K1000. Here is another GMC 64-66 utility bed 4x4 and some others with work still in progress.

Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

66Gilbert..

They are all beauties.....but ya' know I like the service body the best.
It looks like a newer version of the 'Powers" box on mine.
Caddyhack....you sure shouldn't be to upset....that's a great start.
The polka-dot seats might get you in a fight or two......but you know that we all got your back.
I attached some recent pic's. I've been a little busy for the last month.
First of all, I found some wreckin' yard mirrors and fixed 'em up to replace the universal Grote mirrors that were on it........More holes to weld. Then the sm420 was makin' a bunch of racket so I o-hauled it. She got so quiet that I could all-of-a-sudden hear the rear-end howlin' like mad. So I found a low mile '79 K-5 and bought the frt & rear diffs......4:11's: rear posi and big front disc brakes with a heavy-duty sway-bar.
I did the rear first....had to modify the spring pads on the housing....the new rear-end was a couple of inches wider....no big deal. I added two rear leafs to address the tail sag that was going on, and then headed for the front side to deal with that mess.
I started by building the bracketry for the hydro-boost....an engineering marvel in itself. Once that was finished I mounted the Saginaw P-steering box.....no biggy. But then I headed for the fire-wall. That was a different story. Took some doing.
Like I said.....that's another story.......
Anyway, once I got that dealt with, all I had to do was bolt up the front diff, which took a couple hours. Straight swap. No mod's. Easy.
It was about time somethin' went easy.
Anyway, I snapped a few pic's.
As far as my suspension goes, it is all original factory order. One of these days I'll crawl under there and take a couple of pic's of the OE cast-Iron rear spring block assy. It is pretty neat...it incorporates the bump-stops and a six inch lift all in one.
The original set-up allowed me to bolt on the 36" swampers with all the clearance in the world. I still added the leafs.....cause It was the right thing to do. This rig drove pretty good at first, but it sure made a difference to add the new stuff.

Im new to the boards but here's mine a 1966 el camino on a 1970 blazer frame. Future plans are 35" pitbull rockers, portable winch mount with a hitch setup, new paint, all new interior, and line-x undercarriage, bed, inner fenderwells, and the floor. She's a driving project and wheels quite well.

Question Re: Post pics. Lets see how many 60-66 4x4 are out there.

Quick question for you guys. I am looking to lift my 63 k10 somewhere around 4 inches, but I want to keep it on the original frame and not have to make too many major modifications. What are some options for this? Can I possibly use a kit for 67-72 trucks, or is there no way one of those would work? Thanks!

Either a body lift, or get new springs made. 67-72 kits will not work. I put 76 4x4 spring hangers on my 61 4x4 and now i can use a lift kit from any 73-87.
