Re: 68' Chevy c10
I like the OG mirror mount way better even if you left it as is.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Nice! How did you get the red paint to lay in so smooth in the bowtie? Was the red the last step? That is awesome looking!

Thanks Johnathan, nothing more on the cluster yet. still trying to decide what will get the leafing treatment, so when I do the transparent black I only have to mix it once.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks Mike !
Was going to paint inside of cab today, but I didn't get everything taped off before it was 90+ degrees outside. So Sunday morning is it ! Here's the paint and clear I'm using Had to put this one on again. for motivation.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks Man ! Color choice is a tough one. The color I went with is a variation of a GM color called Auburn Nightmist. The original color had fast blue in it, and it made it have a purple hue. I didnt want that,so we took out the blue and no more purple. It's also in the dupont paint registry now. I'll post pics when I get the paint on it.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Up at 6:30 this morning ready to go and it was raining. Luckily it passed over @9:00, so I was able to PAINT!! Will have some pics up as soon as the fog clears out. Clear coat really fills up a room.

At first I was like "Whoa what the heck is he doing to that emblem?!" then I continued scrolling and I love the way it turned out!

Re: 68' Chevy c10
AWESOME!
I like the color even more now. Can't wait to see some panels out in the sun. Nice job man! How bad is the overspray in the shop? I've never done any automotive painting, but have sprayed a bunch of machinery. I know how to operate and maintain a gun and figured I'd spray my own. I'm thinking just a single stage. I bought a bunch of lumber and an a$$-lode of plastic to make a "booth" in my shop. How much painting have you done? Again, looks killer!

Looking really good John. Like the badge and your paint color looks almost like a burnt med. bronze.

Re: 68' Chevy c10
Thanks Man !
Thanks jl ! I have a small paying paint job to do, then it's back to the truck ! Thanks litew8 ! I always liked the metal, and earthtone colors. I wanted to go a bit darker than the factory copper color. I can remember learning to drive the 65' chevy truck on grandads farm. It was dark metallic brown/white. Ahhhh the memories.
