Nice, it's looking great. And I have not been able to see those taillights in action yet. I bought a pair myself and was anxious to do a bench test with them. Now I don't need to

That's awesome. It sounds like he's found a lot of pride in this truck and learned a lot of skills. And I can tell you're proud of him.

They aren’t bad. We will see how they hold up but for the price, it was worth a shot.

Re: Son's 68 c10 Short Bed

Short day today. My son had his wisdom teeth pulled on Thursday and his momma wasn’t on board with him working today. I spent a few hours mounting and wiring the Dakota Digital speedometer converter. I still need to take it for a drive to program it, but as of now, all the gauges work.

This morning they got the fenders, cowl panel and grille in paint. Hopefully this thing will look like a truck by this weekend.

Re: Son's 68 c10 Short Bed

Just got a couple pics from the guy I found to cut some new glass. Getting this done was actually a sigh of relief. Between coronavirus and the fact it was one piece, I was starting to get concerned I wouldn't be able to replace it. I definitely overpaid ($370) considering the whole kit with glass is $399 new. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anyone to answer the phone at the company that sells them.

Re: Son's 68 c10 Short Bed

Fenders, grille, and cowl panel are on. Also did one of those screens under the cowl panel. If you haven’t seen one of these, seems like money well spent to me.

Those screens do look slick. My dad put one on his 69 and I'm definitely planning to do the same. The truck looks fantastic by the way. Good work

I agree on the screen - keeps the trash out.

Looking good! You just need a hood now!

And a tailgate. And headlights. And door glass. And color sand and buff the bed sides. And color sand and buff the fenders. All kidding aside, probably 2-3 weeks left.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Thank you. I’m super excited. It’s coming together nicely. I’m really wanting to change the wheels now too.
