Re: My Blue 1957 build

So nice to be home again. I was in Wichita, Kansas this past week for work with guys from other yards in other states. Met a guy out of Texas there that is over in the 67-72 forum. Pretty cool......Well this week i begin tearing her down to get the cab and bed box blasted then i will get her pieced back together to head to paint for a few months.

Re: My Blue 1957 build

Cant work on the truck right now. Not enough room to strip it down. Trying to get daughters VW together and out of my way. Pulled the motor out due to a horrible noise. Guy told me it had low compression. That was not the problem. Stock cam gear is riveted to the cam. Well it came loose and had oblonged the holes. Luckily nothing was ruined. So now it will be nice and shiny and freshly built.

Wow that brings back memories. I used to be a Volkswagen mechanic for a living. I spent a few years restoring them every day. Nice job.
