Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
I took a break from the truck and posting for quite awhile! I just wasn't happy with the build and the direction it was going. I completely tore the truck down and pretty much started over. Here are the last few pics from before I took a break a few months back. Kind of a shame since it was running and almost ready to drive other than the box/back half needing to be finished.

More teardown! My kids took over the bench and used the truck as a hangout for a while until I figured id better get back on track with it! Stripped it and took out the frame to maybe use on another project?

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Here's where the direction changed for me! I picked myself up a set of powder coated transits with new rubber for another project and decided I wanted a big wheel for the C10. In order to put a 22" wheel and slam it the way I really wanted to do in the first place required more suspension work than I had done. So after doing quite abit of research I decided on Choppin blocks complete front crossmember kit and rear back-half kit.

Do you have any interest in re-homing the upper and lower modified stock control arms?

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
So I picked up a parts truck (72 3/4 ton 292 4 spd) awhile back and figured since I needed a set of frame rails it would be a good donor. Front rails were really nice and straight but the rear section under the box were shot from years of hauling some type of fertilizer/chemical tank? Kind of a shame to dismantle a running driving truck but it gave up some good parts and was worth the teardown.

Got the frame rails back to the garage and started fitting up and trimming the rear section to fit. Drilled quite a few holes and got it all bolted in and mocked up.

Once the rear was in place I started on fitting the front crossmember. Bolt holes lined up well and squared up the frame.

You have some awesome skills! Where are you in ND? If you are close, it would be cool to come check your build out in person.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
I decided to Mock up the engine and trans to see where everything would sit now that its together with the new cross members. I was really happy with how everything lined up and had decent clearance. The headers even fit perfect on the drivers side but did need a little tweaking on the pass side.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Here you can see ( first 2 pics) the 2 pipes that were close/touching the shock mount and the control arm mount on the pass side. Instead of banging in the pipes i just cut the pipe along the head flange and took out about 1/4" of pipe and re-welded them. (sorry no pics of that) but the last pic is it finished with clearance.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Since I need the front control arms and rear bars in place for mock up I decided to send them out for powder coating. A little early but That way I can install all the bushings and balljoints without having to remove them later. So off they go!

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Looks great! I’m dealing with motor height issues on my PB setup. My motor sits so low in the chassis that no header nor manifold will fit. Im hoping Nate is going to help out. I’m BBC too, so I’ll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
It’s tough to find info on these setups with big blocks! Every where I look is LS motors. I’m happy with the room so far, I’ve got about 1 1/2” from crossmember to pan and I’m tempted to make new motor mounts to drop it but I would have header clearance issues if I did that.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
While I was held up with some parts at the powder coater I decided to mock up the air tank and build a set of compressor mounts. (With the help of my daughter) I will end up running the compressors with the heads facing each other since that will route the hoses/lines the way I want them.

Re: 67 C10 "Green Gobblin" straight from the field!
Also decided to tackle a job I've been putting off! Pulled out the old original blown rear end and stripped it down and cut off all the mounts. Got it into the garage for mock up so I can weld on the choppin block link mounts.

I picked up the powder coated rear bars so I can finally get the mounts set and welded!
