Thanks. Yep he is starting to take shape with "a little help from my friends".
My bodyman is a young dude but knows how to get em straight. He worked at a HIGH END street rod shop for about a decade so he knows how.
I don't think he would like to travel much. No car and all.

My bodyman/painter come over yesterday and masked off the interior we painted last weekend. Once it was all protected we shot white on the roof down past where we will change to body color.

Few more pics taken this morning once the unmasking was done. Interior color pops so much against the white I have decided to paint the body color the same tan color as the factory did. Homer is going to be tan with a white top. I was leaning towards the lighter olive green with a white top, but <<

we set the bed in place to see where the color break would occur. gonna split the color at the line just above the bed. I think???

I like the tan, plus i think it would look funny with a tan interior and olive green exterior. I wish i could find a body man to come work on my truck in my yard, no paint prison that way.

Had my bodyman Corey over yesterday to get the back of the cab shaped and smoothed out. Lot of work to cover up where I spliced the new cab roof and back on.
Came out great. Hosed it down with a 2K primer and called it a day. Coming along nicely bit by bit.

Yeah I have had it running a few times. Not for any extended period of time yet as I pulled the transmission pan off to see about the parking pawl. Need to haul it to the trans shop and have a pawl installed.
Wasn't really going to do body and paint quite yet but had the opportunity to get some labor done now for an affordable price so I jumped.
My biggest driver was to get the A pillar and the cab back painted at least below the back glass so I can have my glass re-installed. Want to get that dash, gauges, etc. protected. Kinda what pushed this project ahead of my 63 to begin with was the interior was nice and needed protected.
So yes it's run, not sure how well yet.

Makes perfect sense to me. ..
I have tons of interior parts and other stuff under tarps etc....
A nicely sealed up cab is the best way to keep them nice.
I'll have a new motor in my 66 as soon as I find a manual flywheel that fits the 97 Vortec 350 I'm using. ..
I need to learn more about what interchanges on these chebbys..

Man you ever get hooked up with a good bodyman who wants to make money on the side it's truly a thing of beauty. Win Win.
I dictate when, how much, and what gets done to my schedule both time wise and budget.
I provide all the materials, tools, drinks, and eats so it does not cost him one red cent to come and work at my house. At the end of each and every day we square up and make a plan for future work whether it's the next day or the next weekend.
Sometimes budget dictates that I take a week off, oh well, he goes on about his life with nothing sitting in his way and not out any money on materials.

He sure does good work and it works out great for you both .My mechanic guy is retired from GM and has a home shop but is more than happy to work in my shop like your guy does .I have him call my parts store with a list of parts needed and they deliver to my work and then I schedule him to come over .
Now back to Homer and our regularly scheduled program.......................................
