Thanks guys. Got the bed off tonight (it was just sitting on there to save space in the garage. ) and cleaned up shop some. Used the same mount but cross cross a couple ratchet straps on the bed and it worked great. No pics though. :-(

I also ordered a 4/6 drop from Early Classic today so looks like I'll be going back and redoing the suspension. Woo woo. Haha nah this is a labor of love so I'm glad to do it.

That thing is looking awesome even without the bed or clip. Cant wait to see it dropped. To me, it doesnt get much better than a 4/6 dropped swb with 17 inch TT's. Do you have an idea of when your gonna have it back on the road?

Thank you Jonathon. I've got my springs but still waiting on the rest of the 4/6 or else I'd have it on there already! He said it's all waiting to ship, just the adj. trackbar holding up the shipment. After seeing other 4/6's and admiring them so much I decided to go ahead and do it too... Love the look. I love the TT's too. I am really hoping to have it ready to go by late summer early fall. We'll see, I'm not going to rush it as badly as I want to.

Well after getting the cab mounted to the frame and torqued down, I started getting serious about aligning all the panels and found that I could not for the life of me even after reading every single thread about door alignment get the passenger door to align right. One problem I ran into is during the a pillar repair on the passenger side either I wasn't paying attention or it was from the damage to the cab, the top hinge and bottom hinge are not parallel with each other.

Kind of hard to see in the pics, but the bottom is tilted in towards the rocker making door alignment even more of a PITA that it would be normally.





I just cut the front side and then used a 2x4 and 3lb hammer to straighten it out, then welded it back up.... REAL SLOW LIKE.






I can't stress enough to anyone welding, GO SLOW, I've rushed through a few welded areas and have caused myself more work and more than one setback by welding to fast and warping stuff. I also had to cut my rocker in a few places also, because it was too high at the bottom gap with the door and won't let my door come down enough so that my fender and cowl match up. I've got it cut and the door is looking good now, but I still gotta weld it back in the places I cut... I tacked it, but tonight I figure I'll finish it up.. SLOWLY. :-) I WILL HAVE PERFECT GAPS IF IT"S THE LAST THING I DO!!

Wierd stuff happens sometimes atleast you went back and made it right, there are alot of guys who would have left it jacked up, so kudos man.

Riverside is All Truck Nationals. Look under the main Midwest board. Its the weekend after Labor Day. Always a great time. Please come up, all trucks welcome!

Best advice I can give is to do rockers and corners with the doors in place and especially re pinned and bushed. I did it that way and I still have tight spots!

thanks Chevyman! Nacho, he's does good out in the garage unless I'm making alot of noise... My German Shepherd on the other hand, he loves to be out there with me too but he won't sit still very long, he rather go wheelin'. :-)

Hey Jonathan.. thanks for rattling my cage. I apologize to everyone who's been following my thread .. I haven't been a very good host!

I'm still working away, had a couple setbacks with my cab being tweaked.

Even before I tore the truck down my drivers door had a ridiculous gap in it at the striker, the was a total of 5 plates stacked up just to get it to latch. Instead of welding a bead on the edge of the door to close it up I decided to cut the corner and bend it, was a big SCARY job but now my door seal will match up with the door line good.




So I started cutting and tacking...





and then I cut and tacked some more...



and a little more to get the inside to fit the door line right...
