Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Not much work done on the cab, but i was able to help finish the bottom seat and some of the top seat cushin. I also found the return on the rh tank is partially plugged and stalls out the motor. Guess i will half to pull it and replace it. I also got the inner wheel wells in and can start the box repair.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Finally got a chance to work on the truck. Finshed up the body work, re-primed and then painted the cab. Finally its blue. I also started in the lh box wheel well repair. Its going to be a little more involved than i thought.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

I have been pretty busy at work since i got back, hopefully i will get some work done on friday. Well a little bit done, the carpet and seat are in, i had the dash together but then i got a light issue. The dome light is comming on with the headlights, just started after i put the interior together. The lights under the dash do not come on at all now, so i am guesing a wire is shorting somewhere. I have a pic of the interor.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Wow work sure has been busy lately, i put in 36 hrs the other day and we are changing our working hours, this has been really cutting in on my truck time. I got my garage mostly cleaned and looked at the lighting issue today, still no luck. I plan on working on the doors this week.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Too bad i dont get overtime. I got to go out and fire it up, then i worked with the lighting issue for a bit. All the lights appear to work, just the dome light comes on with the running and headlights. I have a bad ground or a short somewhere just half to find it. Should have fri off, i hope.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

I will finally be home tomorrow, yeah. I cant wait to get going on this thing again. I think i will keep pushing on getting the interior back together and the box repair done. I will figure out the wiring issues later, what better time then when paint is drying to play with wiring. I am hoping to have this thing driving in a month or so, wish me luck.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Well today was a good day, i got a few hours in on the old girl. I got the lighting issue fixed, put in my light switch, installed the dr side dash vent, ash tray, mounted my aux guages, installed the dash cluster, replaced the temp sensor, fixed my rh fuel tank so now i can use either one, installed the 4wd shifter, and ran it up and down the drive ways a few times.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

I was able to get some more work done today. Installed the door sill plates, routed the wiring for the tail lights and trailer brake controller, installed the new seat belts, and installed the rear sliding window. So much more to do.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

I worked on the wiring for the front, swapped out the turn signal sockets and removed the low beam wiring that the suburban used. I started on the box, got the old metal out and started welding in the patches. Found some more rot that i was not expecting, but will deal with it like everything else.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Thanks dusty. Last few for the day, this is my first attempt at ever repairing a box. The seam ended up a little higher than i wanted, but i am just planning on putting some seam sealer over it and then i am doing a spray in bed liner anyways. I also got the interior trim painted.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Well i had to work yesterday so didnt get anything done, but today i have off and jumped back in on the bed repair. Got the wheel arch and rh quarter repair done this morning, just need to finish up the welding. I didnt have much of a reference since both sides were rotted out about the same, so i had to wing it. I think it turned out just fine.

Re: Rusty, crushy, but trysty.

Stopped for lunch but got started on the lh side. It was not quite as rotted. This time i trimmed the inner wheel well so the seam does not stick up above the wheel well.
