Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Great pics of your son helping! I have always wanted to ask, what is the specs on your suspension drop? blocks in the rear and springs? springs and spindles on the front? it's not bagged? I think it sits great with the 20" Coys. thanks

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Spindles and springs in the front for a 5 inch drop, and a flip in the rear. About 6 inches in the rear. Thanks for the compliments.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Josh, been a while since I checked in on here. Nice progress man! How old is your little man. Both of my kids love to "work" on the truck. My daughter especially (4). That first picture of him from the back would be a great photo...for anyone's wall.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
He's 2 right now. He's alot of fun. You should have seen him "working" on my left front wheel with a 12" long 1/2" drive extension. Scared me to death. Luckily it didnt do anything.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
OK Dennis, I have a bone to pick with you. I just spent the morning outside removing the rest of the cab and core support mounting bolts so I can remove the cab and clip to sandblast and paint the chassis. THANKS ALOT!
Thankfully the paint and body work on my truck is OK for now and I will just put the cab in storage until the chassis is totally blasted, rebuilt, and painted. My wife may be calling to talk to you later. Better hope she doesnt see your contact info in my cell phone! Maybe pics tonight if I can get some guys out here to help remove the cab and front clip. GRRRRRR

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
The rear bolt on the drivers side spun the nut loose but no big deal. Thats what I have a plasma cutter and a welder for. I just cut the bolt with a sawzall to remove the cab. I will make a cut in the bottom of the cab to access the nut, weld a new one in place and weld the hole up. No-one will ever be able to tell I was in there. Now I just need an entire suspension rebuild kit and some cab and core support mounts. Planning to disassemble the chassis and take it to the blasters next week if time permits. I'm thinking maybe powder coat everything but wonder how well it holds up on a driver. Any suggestions guys? Eastwoods rust encapsulator, POR15 etc...

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Well, has nothing to do with TOTM. Boatpullers truck is way more deserving than mine. I just figure I will be way more happy with it in the end. And by the way your build is going mine wont hold a chance against it either. I will just be happy if mine looks half as good as yours when it's done.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Josh, lmc has the best price on an entire kit for the cab, core support, and bed. all the bushings and bolts for $120... as for the frame i went with eastwoods chassis black extreme. imo, it is a bit over priced @ $20 a can. i didnt powdercoat mine because if i get a chip or need to modify something later down the road you cant just touch it up with paint. i'd go por-15 or try the rustolumn professional that ive heard great things about...

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Thats what I need to do my build in a 2 car garage...a stand the chassis can roll under to hold the cab. I just may have to make one. Thanks for the idea!

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
I know, it sucks. I want to drive it soooo bad. Figures as soon as I order the harness and can get it running again I get a wild hair and totally tear it all to pieces. At least it will be like I want it when I get done this time. Will just give me inspiration and ideas for my future Nova pro touring build.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
She's fine, just thinks I'm crazy to take a truck that looked so good on the outside and totally blow it apart like that. Makes her wonder about me.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
It is probably a good thing I don't have room in my garage to tear mine apart...Thank you Biscayne! (That might be the first time I've said that.)
Hey Josh, whats wrong with that brown paint on your chassis?

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
It's ok if you're into that kinda thing. It's actually mostly dirt but it will be nice and low gloss black in a while.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build
Man I've been slacking. This thing was on page 3 already! Ok, the truck has now been 100% disassembled and the chassis is on the trailer and ready to go to the blasters tomorrow. Paint is ordered so hopefully I will have the frame back, painted, and partially reassembled by the end of this week. I cant beleive I took apart such a nice looking truck to do this and I'm sure Bigarmzz wants to strangle me but it'll be so sick when it's done. Sorry Biggz.
