Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Wont see any of the suspension for another month and a half. You guys are going to have to wait. I did manage to get the bed covered last night with 3m welding paper so I can now raise the floor and cut the wheels out on the bed. Also started working on the ice chest/cooler holder for the bed.

Just went to the powder coater and picked up some gold parts here is one of the rotor hats. This will be the color of the wheels frame and engine mixed in with polish and orange.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Hey Eric,

Is the trim you used the stick on type or the original style with clips? I don't see any holes in your bedsides so I assume they are the stick on type. I welded up all the trim holes on my 72 and now I think I want to run the trim again so that is why I am asking. I always wondered how strong the adhesive was and if it would cause problems down the road. Yours look great so that is why I am asking.

On another note you wouldn't happen to be going with PB's new Dropmember Touring with Coilovers would you??? With that kind of power I think it would be a bad ass setup and the only way to go!

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

I an using the factory trim tabs drilled with a nut on the back. I know it took you alot of time to weld the holes up but i would attach the trim the old fashion way. Hope this helps. I cant say on the suspension but I will tell you this it will be like nothing you have seen so far. Hope that helps.
Later Eric

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

i ended up with a hydratech hydroboost and wilwod master...you gonna run hydroboost on yours? Im took your advise on the motor and the lq9 with the tvs is being done...there goes the second on the house...lol betweeen the wheels brakes and motor. makes the paint and body seem like childs play.....I promise I will not have a gold chassis mine is staying satin black just with color matched suspension, motor, trans, and little odds and ends. I gotta finish my bed soon but have to make it so I can lift it to show off the accuair stuff and be able to work on it. Skunkwerks has really helped me with how he did his bed and I think im heading that direction. Ive got alot done i just dont want anyone to copy it...i know it will be but not before im done atleast..lol You have been a major inspiration to me with your trucks, just wish I was as sanitary as you are with your builds. This one your doing is going to be incredible and really be something special.

Thanks man, I am glad you went with the lq9. I am going with the wilwood master and booster off the fire wall. It should be cool. Hay I think if you want the chassis gold you should go for it.
