I might be interested in the siren just for grins. I already have a gurney over at my Dads, nice electric wheelchair too. In that case I'd ditch the stock lights.

It was originally an ambulance, thats one of the reasons the body is in such good shape.

Oh no, it started life as an ambulance. I never considered restoring or updating it that way.

Hey good eye! yup 5 5 Chev.

Wiring moved, returned the truck to the bodyshop yesterday before the rain started. The ECM was o.k. where it is for now, just moved the fuse box to the firewall. Had to move the main harness where it goes through the firewall up a few inches so they wouldn't have to cut & splice all the wires.

It will have a charging block, or jump start location, directly above the master cylinder. It will utilize two very small batteries in the back inside the factory Envoy storage compartment in the cargo floor. Pics later.

My vote is HHR lights or a smaller round light frenched somehow like the factory single light on the picture of that white one. Of course I'm partial cause I own a HHR (mini-burb) myself.

0 gauge wire to two 6-volt Optimas in the rear floor. A/C lines will be moved from the top of the motor, along with the other a/c parts, and relocated down low out of sight.

Really guys, it will cost less for the basics than my 48 GMC Panel did going the traditional route of mustang style clip, big block, 700R4, 9inch. And as far as skills, measure twice & cut once! Find a good welder, & voila!

The back door is on the hinges. And we hung on it all 200 lbs of one of us, 2 hinges will do! and yes, the drivers seat is bolted into the stock Envoy location--works a little better than the 14 inch tire & wheel.

toying with the ideal of joining my 2 doors in the back and making it raise up like a hatch. I'm kinda stuck on the burb doors compaired to the panel doors. yours looks great like you don't already know LOL

Using the existing hinges is WAY easier. I hear you on the hatch style, but just think about the fabrication it entails. Unless you need to stay out of the rain, the hatch only creates ways for me to bump my head!

Not knockin this guys truck, its just not for me.

Awesome! I'll PM you after a trip down is planned. Yep...I got myself a magazine.....it's called " The 1947-1959 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Message Board" and is found in a near future picture thread! lol. The camera is mandatory for outings....you never know just what or who you'll run into!
