Thanks! Got the grille ends on so I was able to install it and the bumper. Jason used his skills to deal with the passenger door handle that was giving me fits so I was able to get the door panel wrapped up. Got the carpet hold downs installed and the hatch weatherstrip is all on now. Got all the seatbelts in now too! blazer specific passenger belt Rear bench belts Passenger door panel because the handle is finally done

Re: 71 Blazer "Finishing Touches"
It looks great, getting down to the very last "finishing touches".
I should change the name of my thread to "beginning touches" because it seems every day is a new start to something that will never end...

Re: 71 Blazer "Finishing Touches"
Great job on the Blazer! It turned out great! too bad you have to sell it so soon, what with all the warm weather left, it would be cool to drive it till late fall at least.

Looking good Jonathan!
Have you considered side trim?

Re: 71 Blazer "Finishing Touches"
Yes, factory medium blue. The PPG code for the chevy medium blue cross referenced to a more modern chrysler blue which is what it says on the paint can codes. However, it does match perfectly with the original paint still on the firewall and under the spid sheet on the inside of the glovebox door.

I would love to do it and really think it would bring the truck to another level visually.....but I am going to leave it up to the next owner. If they like it they can put it on...and if they didn't want trim they wouldn't have to weld up any holes since the truck originally didn't come with any.

Re: 71 Blazer "Finishing Touches"
Man let me tell you that thing is looking so sweet. Of course now that you have the top on I must see pictures of it outside the Garage.. I may have to save a pic to my hard drive to let peeps know what I am looking for in a couple of years. Man that is some inspiration. Just don't tell JR that I said I am possibly going with the Blazer..

Re: 71 Blazer "Finishing Touches"
Tonight was frustrating with not having the hardware I needed for the top. Finally found some of the bolts but will have to buy some others tomorrow. Got the courtesy lights all hooked up. All lights now working. Jason was able to do a safety check and checked the timing and all fluids. (He's now a certified state inspector too)
Wanted to take a test drive but not with a loose top. Will hopefully bolt it on tomorrow night and make it to a local cruise-in. Paint is going to be wet sanded and buffed Sunday morning by the paint guy and his top assistant. Can't wait to see it all buffed up to a shine!!! Here's pictures showing the bezels on the lights and the trim rings and center caps I was also able to install with Jason's help on the rings that were kicking my butt . Did I ever mention it has the Warn Gold locking hubs

Re: 71 Blazer "Finishing Touches"
Paint got wet sanded and then buffed and is SUPER SMOOTH! Almost finished now.....and got a deposit on it so it'll be going to a new owner soon.
Jason's bike in the reflection getting the emblems on and cleaned up the engine after tuning it up and adding a fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge
