Absolutely NO criticism of your totally *****in truck meant.
Dan-

No worries. Yes, at some point I might get back into the engine compartment and clean/change somethings. I can tell you I'm more apt to go away from shinny parts at this point. My friend just build a serious pro touring Nova with an LS7 motor and his engine bay is all black. I really like this look. I won't take mine this far but I would like to incorporate more black into the engine bay. At times I think my truck has too many shinny parts on it as it is. That is also why I didn't continue the theme in the engine bay.

It really depends on your application. My truck uses a car frame (g-body) front and rear and I used a car gas tank and retrofitted it for my application.

I would ask other people with 55-57 trucks to see what they used.

Good luck

thanks to you also. headlights are overrated lol jk

well I have done a little bit of pant work just to get rid of that awful red, and taken it back to the factory green with distressing to make it match the driver side. Kinda stuck on what to do to it at the moment. The frame thats underneath it is pretty hacked, so i bought another truck that is basically trashed on the outside but I could swap the frame on. Other option is just scratch build a frame with a mustang II front and bagged. Im still up in the air on having it bagged because of past bad experiences, but I have a friend that I trust to do it right and he does good quality work. So who knows at this point

I know what you mean too, time is really hard to come by and when I have a moment it is looking at someone elses project that I am taking on to finish or do another step of the build, some of my own projects have sat for a year to 5 years ubtouched while I would just make money on other builds and buy parts for mine when I can get to it. that is why after owning over 120 hotrods of all types in my life (52 years old now) that I am finally just gettin tired and keeping this one and "if" I ever get the urge will buy another project like you and get to it when I can. That why they are called projects right.

Yea man its tough, I prefer to build stuff by using money made off of other peoples projects. Its tough working a reg 4-60 hr week and finding time to do someone elses project much less my own. But this one will have to stay on the back burner for a lil while until ive gotten my 59 ford mild custom done. If I didn't have too much done to it I would build this one quick but I have too much time and money invested to stop now

Nice looking trucks fellas.
Bootlegger - I really like your color combo. Very slick interior.

Vince- I like the engine. Did you modify the valve covers or did you buy them that way.

I like the valve covers because they blend the old look on a new motor. No build thread on my truck. It was a long project. Ready to start the next one.

Thanks
Marc

Bootlegger...very tastefully done. I like the Gaylord's lid, and the whole interior is killer. What is your steering wheel out of? It goes perfectly with the truck.

Re: How about some pics of bagged 47-59

Thanks to everyone for the complements, The forum members and their trucks have been inspirational and educational in the build.

youngrodder. Thank you. Your color combo is is excellent also. I was trying to get the early 60's two tone look.

HZRDPAY , The steering wheel is a 59-60 Chevrolet Impala 15 inch replica that came from Southern Rods. It required a bit of extra work to get it to work and fit.

lowdownstar , The wheels are American Racing Torq Thrust II , 15/6 frt and 17/8 rear the rear have a 3 3/4 back space. The knock offs are from Rons Rims got them off E-bay $205. for all 4 with shipping , Quality of the knock-offs are out standing.

Beautiful truck and workmanship. Also like the Impala wheel, it all really fits well together. Like how you think.
