Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

Thanks!
Today’s progress, we wired the ignition. The new engine harness came in, so that will be going in in the next few days (hopefully then it’ll be a runner)
we continue to work on that dash (it still doesn’t meet my standard) the dash is holding everything up
The back wall of the cab goes into final paint tomorrow

This is how we create the hidden stereo
Here it is mocked up

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

Nice work on the truck and I've been following the build. My question is once you mount the hidden stereo in that plate you made, is it going to leave enough room for your wiper motor?

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

We spent all day fitting the front bumper, not quite done. Will finish tomorrow and move on to the rear bumper.
Switched sides on the brackets to tuck it up and removed 3 inches from the brackets

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

got the column wired, all that’s left are the gauges and heat/AC.
We spent the day putting in the engine harness and Christian spent the day re making the radio panel (he made the hole for the dual USB port too big)

Re: Orson the 49 GMC ~ Chris C.

we did get the truck running today. Unfortunately it only seems to run in the start position, as soon as you let go of the key it quits! We bought a new ignition switch tonight. We will continue diagnostics tomorrow. any ideas?
We also got the rear speaker boxes fabbed up, paint tomorrow
